Hi all, first post here.
As the title: what does the % figure in the task bar at the bottom of the VSTHost window indicate?
I have searched this forum and googled it and looked at the pdf manual.
Nowhere can I find out what exactly it means.
Thanks.

I think it's CPU usage

Post

I don't think it is cpu usage.
In the attached screenshot cpu usage total is 13% and VSTHost usage is 8.4% and yet the VSTHost taskbar says 61%.
The % does go up the more demanding the plugin is for example if I select the Multi Band Algorithm instead of Single Band.

DAW CPU meters and the task manager work differently. I think 61% is the most taxed core. Which would make sense, because, if one core gets close to 100%, then you get audio dropouts.

Post

I don't think that's it either.
See attached showing individual core usage.
None hitting over 45% yet VSTHost indicates 70.1%.
I have set the Algorithm to Dual Band this time.

Then I frankly don't know why it shows that high of a value. But, that's definitely the CPU utilization display of VSTHost.

is it percentage of allocated resources?
:ud:

I correct myself. I do think you are right.
If I watch the % hit a high value then look across to the top left cpu box then indeed it hits about the same value.
It is not precise as we are dealing with transients but the trend is indeed there.
So thank you for your help and replies.

Its definitely cpu use, I think its for a single core. So task manager has it lower as youre on a multicore computer.
