The Virtuoso strings that I found by googling were the Kirk Hunter and they cost about $1,000.

Are we talking about the same thing here?

Do you have a link?
Ya, he dropped them to $99. http://www.kirkhunterstudios.com

Not to confuse things even more, but it's possible those ultimate strings might be on sale... $99 - 35% until Dec. 31st via their Holiday sale, so maybe $64.35?

I say maybe because I don't know for sure.

You can check the info here:

Just something to be aware of if that's the library you decide to go for.

I tried to go to the checkout screen to find out if it is on sale, but it requires registration.

oh man Im listening to these pure string samples, and yes the demo did NOT give this pack justice whatsoever.

Thanks for enduring my annoying personality.

This string set is blowing my mind

can you give specifics on the strength of Ultimate Strings vs other libraries......and how does the up/down bowing sound?

Hi Guys,

I would also be interested to hear opinions of the Kirk Hunter Solo Strings pack if anyone could please?

Im looking to add violin and perhaps cello backing to vocal and acoustic guitar tracks and I dont want to drive Fitch mad :)

Im looking to do ballad type tracks and am after the Dirty Three type of violin sound if anyone knows them :)

Thanks Chaps,
Dave
