I 100% agree. The irony for me is, that it was such bloat-laden philosophies, which were some of the prime reasons that motivated me to sell my Arturia V Collection licence. i.e. The desire to deliberately get away from suchlike nonsense as pointless 3D skeuomorphism in plugins ~ for use within the scope of a completely 2D digital realm (which that aforementioned company seems totally obsessed by).

One of the alternative companies I turned to and purchased many plugins from, to replace the rejected Arturiaware, was ... G-Force! ... And now out of the blue, this! They venture down the same old tired ass route (is this still the early 2000s, what gives?) ... A 'facepalm' doesn't even do this turn of events justice

My question is, who even asked G-Force for this? Did any of their customers ever suggest such a foolish endeavour? Because, I know I sure didn't. If anything, I would have preferred G-Force to move even further away, in the polar opposite direction.

The last thing we need is more pointless redundancy filling up valuable DAW screen space, in some failed attempt to look like 3D hardware, in our two dimensional DAWs, when we could just have a larger UI of essential controls and elements, instead of fake wood and fake 3D skeuomorphism.

Nobody can convince me otherwise, or that this following image demonstrates a more valuable use of DAW screen real estate:

Sorry Arturia, I mean G-Force, I honestly think you dropped a bollock with this one and should rethink your current GUI trajectory, if this is any sign of things to come for your other products.

Got to admit, absolutely ridiculous change in GUI design. Make it 1GB of image files filling up the harddrive, and change it to SEM V!

The wasted screen space has got to go ... Scrap it in the next update, G-Force ASAP!

Edit: See following "Fixed GUI" mockup ... Which is the exact same version 1.6 update GUI, only with the redundant border and 3D perspective removed (took less than 5 minutes to do in Photoshop, hopefully G-Force can do something similar with a bit more time on their hands)

I own it but havent updated/looked at the update yet. The new GUI is the one where it looks like it stitting on a table? What? No... that's crazy.

I will send them a polite email asking to give the old GUI back at least as an option. You should consider it as well because that's a good way to get the product to align to customers.

Yeah, I certainly won't be updating either. Silly thing to waste resources on. Made the GUI worse. Maybe the old one can be brought back in the future.

I emailed them about how ridiculous this GUI is now.

They’re not willing to change it.
Maybe the rest of the plug-ins will get this downgrade too…

Trust me it came up in Beta... and I know at least one Beta tester was exceedingly vocal about it.

They'd probably make you 'upgrade' to v2.0 to get the 'old' look back again.

When you expand it, there's mostly just a small wood strip at the bottom. Still, it's wasted space.
I always use it expanded anyways.

The best thing to do is not to download the upgrade. AFAIK, the new GUI is the only thing in this version, so no-one is missing out on anything. When they see nobody cares about this stupid update, they might reconsider.
