Soothe2 by Oeksound can be a great tool in the hands of composers and producers. It basically helps you suppressing noisy and wrong frequencies very quickly and without tweaking a lot of plugins and effects. It has an engine that analyzes and finds the bad frequencies in the ranges you select. And yet you have total control on the behaviour of Soothe 2: you can tell it how much to suppress, set the attack, the release, work on the mid/side or the left/right and so on.
Thanks to Oeksound for kindly sending us a copy of the plugin to review.

I disagree that it "finds the bad frequencies" - it finds all frequencies. But you can hone in on the bad frequencies. This is just one of those desert island plugins (Spectre, Crave EQ) for me.

Ditto. (I don't have spectre or crave though) :tu:

It's good at what it does, but I don't find myself using it often. Sucks the soul out of a sound...

Yeah I think its better to confine the processing to the points in the track and frequency range where needed. I usually do that, and then automate mix% usually from 0 to 100% when needed only.

Soothe2, what´s the BF price / lowest price ?

something within me has a price OCD, i just can´t for 139.- ......so i wonder if waiting makes sense.
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's the same price during Black Friday. I also find it a bit too high and would love it if they offered a price reduction when you add it as part of a bundle. I’d probably grab it together with Bloom
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While the GUI is not as pretty as the one of Soothe it can do basically what Soothe does:
Smooth Operator Pro. Currently on sale for $79.
Just sayin.

Yeah, I really think they missed an opportunity to sell more licenses by not making Soothe 99€ in this sale. Last update is long time ago and as you said there is now competition. But people might get "the original" when it's only 20 bucks more. Not so much when it's 50.
I personally own Soothe since version 1 and never would sell it. Just felt they should have go lower with this sale.

SpecCraft is much better for me. And I was purchased or for 69 USD. And a lot of controls on the board.. just IMHO.

I agree that it is easy to go overboard with soothe, but there are times where it is the rescuer - e.g. annoying cymbal ringing in the OHs. Also, it works with a sidechain input, I find it very useful to carve out space for 808s without completely castrating the low end.
Another plugin which is worth looking is Arbiter by Tokyo Dawn.

Is soothe 2 the best choice among its plugin class when working with spoken words mainly? And sometimes also background music?

It's so good, it'll even create the vocals for you?

Better than Speccraft?

Think I'm still paying about £10 a month for Soothe rent to own on Splice.
Think that's probably the best way to get it, if the price is an issue.

Really great results for the CPU it takes.

But actually, since getting Pro Q4, I've never even opened a new instance of Soothe.
But that's only because Pro Q is an EQ, and it's easy to switch to resonance compression, whenever I feel the need.
