After a long time (I had to check, it's 4 years) I decided to contribute to this challenge again
In fact, I was looking for a motivation to finally write something from the beginning to the end. Because during those years I attempted few songs but every time found arguments why not to release
Initially, I thought I could have spent more time with this composition, but completely forgot we have a short vacation starting tomorrow (today). So had to finish it in an even shorter time than expected. I started over the last weekend, progressing during the following nights.
It all started with a melody idea, built up in my head while putting my daughter to sleep. But after I designed drums I found it would end with a bit different style. I adopted the main melody though, removing its other part. An interesting fact is, that regardless of how hard is to make some decent drums in this synth, I invest only several minutes in them. Somehow they clicked quickly. Especially bass drum sounds to me pretty good. BTW thank you for the idea of using a pitchbend to help with BD.
The rest was more or less jamming around.
I had plans to add some FX, but found no time for that. Maybe it saved me from overcooking.
Mixing and mastering wise... none. No time, no skills. Limiter on submix only.
Edit: way after publishing I noticed crackles in the song intro. I suppose it comes from automated FM. Have no option to fix it before deadline (tbh I have no idea how to work it out if I’m right. Hope it’s not a big deal.
