The subject says it all. I'm looking for a free portable VST host that could run my old 32 bit plugins under Windows.

Is it really Hermann Seib's VSThost and SAVIhost are only ones available in a ZIP file?

It's so hard to believe...

Just use VSTHost or SAVIHost. They are really good.

This is great. I had this exact question come into mind tonight ... and instead of starting a new topic, here it was.

I'm curious if any (or all) of these will run in WINE/Crossover? (EDIT: Tone2 says they support WINE for Nanohost. Mixed results in Google for the others). Sound drivers & MIDI seem potentially problematic. I am hopeful, as an earlier version of VST Host shows up with an app ID in the Codeweavers db: https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibili ... t-host-152

I just wrestled with AudioGridder for two days to finally figure out it only supports 64 bit VSTs. So don't try that.

Just reporting back on recent findings: Tone2 32-bit runs perfectly fine in Crossover for Intel. Under Crossover on Silicon, I can't seem to get any of the audio drivers to work. It loads the DLL but then hangs the application when I go to change the audio device. Oh well.

Any free VST host in ZIP for 32-bit Win plugins
