Best Place for Live Music Mixing / Engineering Info?

Hey all,

I've been doing some searching around the forum but haven't found any resources for info on live / concert mixing and engineering. Long story short I'm a drummer (who plays alongside a DJ) with an electronic kit (Roland TD50) using the build-in drum brain samples but I've been having issues with the drums clipping when recorded / played through my buddy's DJ mixer (which I believe is a Pioneer DJM-S7 or similar). We've tried turning down the input gain but then the drums are way too quiet. I'm wondering if I'm using the wrong input or if I should be using a compressor in the loop? Also, I want to use Ableton Live to trigger samples from a sample packs I've purchased, so then I could just run a compressor on the output of the drum channel if I went that direction. Does anyone have any experience doing anything like this in a live setting? Would appreciate any info or recommendations, thanks!
