Not sure if this is instrument or effect but am looking for an interesting random pattern generator. Namely midi note patterns, also to use with drums, and also some sort of CV or CC randomisation. Free is great but would pay a little for sucha tool. I really love generating random patterns and snipping tasty segments as audio and mashing it all together. All suggestions welcome.

Not free: https://www.waproduction.com/plugins/vi ... composer-2
Or you could download the free versions of HY-SeqCollection and HY-MPS2 and click the randomization buttons:
https://hy-plugins.com/product/hy-seqcollectionwinmac/
https://hy-plugins.com/product/hy-mps/
These won't help with MIDI CC but you could try Cableguys MIDI Shaper for that: https://www.cableguys.com/midishaper

Keyboard window features Trig, Acc, and Lp generate patterns based on content trigger, settings, and where you point to on the note display, and a simi-random algorithm. And you can combine patterns.

Found a nice random gate plugin from audio modern https://audiomodern.com/shop/plugins/gatelab/
Can generate infinite random gate patterns, in stereo (not always especially coherent though) and be set to control other CC parameters.
Have been using Rhythmiser as suggested by a few above, which is great although timing can be iffy unless I set my buffer really low which is its own other thing. Not sure it's worth the asking price though.
My quest for the perfect randomiser continues. I use cubase and some of the little midi inserts are useful but not quite what I want. If anyone has a suggestion for applying deeper randomisation in Cubase, I'm all ears.
