I've wseen several videos by now and the impression is that it's actually not easy at all to come up with sounds that are not cosmic farts of some sort using the Genopatch. All of them are about 'soundtrack for your next sci-fi game' or some such.

Which unfortunately puts Synplant 2 into a nerdy niche. As if software creating dreadful sounds would be something to be amazed at. Or anywhere useful.

Would love to use the dark skin but the black text on the dark grey background strains my eyes in ways that nullify the eye-strain-relief benefits I get from using 'dark mode' !
Agreed.

It would only take a few very minor tweaks, to adjust the relative brightness levels of the text and a few buttons and it would be perfect.

Probably wouldn't take that much longer, than the 5+ minutes I spent on this refined mock-up image...

...Basically, just switch any black text with a dark-grey background to light grey text. And then slightly brighten the light grey panels which have black text over them. Bingo!

Or...

Perhaps, you could simply try it out for yourself with your own samples and tinkering and then form your own opinion thereof.

Rather than basing it purely upon what samples and choices other people (who you've watched many videos of) happened to have taken?

... or not!

As I mentioned in a previous comment here - the one about why I upgraded to SP2 - I did. And will continue to do so, but as an oddity only.

"Rather than basing it purely upon what samples and choices other people ... "

Each comment should contain the full history of what was said by someone on a subject, lest preconceptions will be made. Naturally this can become quite tedious. The solution : simplify human beings so that they eventually take for granted that the more-or-less one liners (of thought) they write and read is all there is to it.

Hey, I got the basis of a new sci-fi movie ! Now, what instrument could make a nice soundtrack ...

Charles Manson would have liked it, probably. Although a less organic version of Manson.

Upgraded today. Let's see if it's worth it. Sounds promising though.

Actually good, which explains to some people my warped musical tastes.

As if all synths aren't a nerdy niche.

Fully functional three-week trial = plenty of time for anyone to figure whether it's worth it to them or not.
Duality without regard to physicality

ftfy... :tu:
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

I've been using fart samples and coming up with some great synth sounds.

Why does qebrus, a French breakcore artist who committed suicide in 2018, connect with an American serial killer, what do you have in your head?
for synplant 2 and its learning system, this is only the beginning of this technology, this makes it more curious for the evolution of future versions with different digital synthesis. This is only the beginning.
peace and love for all.

not sure if i will upgrade to v2

i've been in a state of disbelief over the lack of assignable modulation.
it feels like less of an upgrade and more just... Genopatch.
Even having knobs now, it's almost just as fiddly as v1.
There doesn't appear to be any mousewheel support.
The underscores everywhere also make it even more difficult to read.
if there are 4 parameters and they all pertain to Volume, why label "vol_atk, vol_dcy" etc!?
difficult to read quickly. I get that's what they're abbreviated to under the hood, but erg
Just use "Attack, Decay" etc and label the subsection "Volume".

feels like i'm driving an encyclopaedia.

i should also add that is a lovely piece of art
