Which unfortunately puts Synplant 2 into a nerdy niche. As if software creating dreadful sounds would be something to be amazed at. Or anywhere useful.
I've had the opposite experience. Putting in bass (Yamaha DX bass sample omg), drums, keys, have yielded amazing usable sounds so far for lots of genres. I can't stop saving them. Love it also when Genopatch tries to copy the digital aliasing or noise from older machines

You download the dark skin installer separately - there are also addon patches to download

Not sure but maybe you need to own the full version to access these?

Confirmed: the skin selector is a script and in order to run scripts you need the full version.

It absoluteley depends on what kind of sample you are using. The results will be better if the sample has been created with the same possibilities provided by the synth engine in Synplant 2, which is subtractive synthesis with a little bit of FM. Everything outside this cannot be recreated exactly, neither by the AI trying to adjust the parameters of the synth, nor the best living sound designer of the world.

he is not a breakcore artist (you need breaks for that genre), also i was not able to find the way he died or the reasons, suicide was not mentioned at all, stop reading Klaus Schwab book The Great Reset, it makes you a little edgy

wow, the presets you save are just some kilobytes, i need to check if you need to imported sample or if it really is so small if you send someone some user presets?

I´ve stumbled upon this interesting feature quoted from Fredrik, over at the Sonic Charge forum which might be quite interesting for anyone using Genopatch, some kind of preset morphing:
You can load up a Synplant preset or start from something random, go into Genopatch, load a reference audio you want it to evolve towards, and then "plant" the current patch in all 4 strands and hear them grow.

Notice here that Auto-preview is automatically turned off when you do this, because otherwise it would ruin your "current patch" as soon as it found the 1st solution.
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The preset is all you need if you want to send it to someone, no samples required. Samples are only used during the Genopatch generation process, after it has been saved it is a normal Synplant 2 patch.

woah thx, this is incredible how small their size is, only 3kb each. i created some yesterday.

it is definitely not a bread and butter synth, who buys it for that anyway? but it is an awesome inspirational synth and so far really interesting what it generates. i have to check 2 things.

1. if you make some loopy sound/generate one, i dunno if syncing works?
2. if you generate patches, is there a way to autotune them or all by ear? so rootnote is C5 or so for example.

nvm
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Is Synplant 2 basically doing a version of resynthesis with variations? Would something like Tone2 Icarus be better suited to the casual user?
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Just test it - internal LFO is running in DAW sync.
Different, when try to generate presets from audio bpm loops. Produces kinda "odd delay", which won't be synced.
Would be great to have a kinda formant shifting option in a later version (I tested with a choir source, gen results sound only good in certain, deeper ranges.)

Talking about Random and Tone2 - I guess, Synplant 2 and Warlock should complement nicely :-)
