Caine123 wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2023 9:05 am wow, the presets you save are just some kilobytes, i need to check if you need to imported sample or if it really is so small if you send someone some user presets?
The preset is all you need if you want to send it to someone. No sample required, they are only used during the Genopatch process.
woah thx, this is incredible how small their size is, only 3kb each. i created some yesterday.

it is definitely not a bread and butter synth, who buys it for that anyway? but it is an awesome inspirational synth and so far really interesting what it generates. i have to check 2 things.

1. if you make some loopy sound/generate one, i dunno if syncing works?
2. if you generate patches, is there a way to autotune them or all by ear? so rootnote is C5 or so for example.
1. yes, you can sync to DAW tempo
2. maybe yes, but I'm not sure exactly what you mean - it does have a 'correct/fix tuning' option
3. read the manual :-P (it's only 20+ pages...)

Totally niche, totally irrelevant, extremely unusable, yet...:
Creating a fresh Genopatch in Synplant 2 using a snippet from one of my pan-drum loop as reference sample, then evolving one of the resulting seeds.

Simon you're the MacGyver of the audio world.

he is not a breakcore artist (you need breaks for that genre), also i was not able to find the way he died or the reasons, suicide was not mentioned at all, stop reading Klaus Schwab book The Great Reset, it makes you a little edgy
Mr. Martiu, stay calm, everything will be fine, Thomas Denis alias Qebrus was an international French artist idm/glitch/breakcore. Discogs is your friend.

I would call it IDM because it's IDM but all music needs to grow or it dies (hello Dubstep).

Aloysius wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2023 9:27 am Is Synplant 2 basically doing a version of resynthesis with variations? Would something like Tone2 Icarus be better suited to the casual user?
Synplant 2 is just using the AI to tweak the internal simple synthesis engine until it gets as close to the target sound as it can. That's it.

This is a concept that will soon be upon us in many more synthesizers.

looks amazing, 1. it can listen and then recreated and 2. it can do that with a relatively simple synth.

Grodada wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2023 2:48 am Why does qebrus, a French breakcore artist who committed suicide in 2018, connect with an American serial killer, what do you have in your head?
I do not know Qebrus. Following my 'cosmic fart' comment Martiu posted the flashcore piece. So I listened to it. The impression it gave me was about violent death. I could have mentioned a local case but that would be unknown to all. And now you are saying that the author committed suicide.

I wasn't too far off after all.

More useless stuff: creating a Genopatch in Synplant 2 using a male actor's voice as sample reference. Then selecting one of the resulting seeds and taking it from there.

I have to say that I already commented on the very nice (pad) factory sounds from Synplant2 which was one of the reasons I upgraded. I listed several other reasons and here's another one :

9) Because of its simplicity it took a few minutes to create a Bitwig remote control device for the synth, allowing sound manipulation of several parameters at a time using a Launchpad or other hardware device. This is neat. Tailored performance remote controls are easily made.

After I listed the reasons why I upgraded I went on criticizing the videos that only produced noises out of Genopatch. I still consider these were hastily made to grab an audience and are painting what is put forth as the main feature of SP2 into a niche.

That's where this shines, in synthesizing weird sounds from samples, so there is a history or a memory of it, and this resonates in the sound making it familiar (think of Mark Fisher's Hauntology). Are you asleep already?
But like others, wish the sound engine was a bit more sophisticated and higher quality.
