Just wait until TAL is flooded with support mails from people who paid next to nothing and forgot to plug their keyboards into their computers wondering why there is no sound coming out of their speakers. That will be fun.

Again there was a tag on the TAL products that said "Pay Only 13%" in honor of AD's 13th anniversary. It was not a mistake. Also again a 13% discount is rather silly to honor your anniversary. That's not even a normal day's discount.mi-os wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2023 4:18 pm If this wasn't a pricing mistake i'd be very surprised. Giving away your newest products for peanuts doesn't sound like a clever long term strategy if you ask me. Therefore refunding seems the lesser evil in this case.
Btw, some people here look really selfish and greedy, not a nice view.
That's not us being greedy that's just taking care of business just like these vendors are trying to do as they compete for our business.
Where the mistake lies in not anticipating the stampede these TAL deals would cause and not being ready for it. Again an established vendor should have seen this coming. Pretty simple really.

We should collect these accidents in a Hall of Shame thread for the generations to come.

You hurt? Didn’t get a licence? Bought it for 7x more?mi-os wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2023 4:38 pm Just wait until TAL is flooded with support mails from people who paid next to nothing and forgot to plug their keyboards into their computers wondering why there is no sound coming out of their speakers. What’s that support story you are trying to tell. Makes no sense? Keyboard not connected? Sound coming out of the speakers if the speaker is connected no? Keyboard not connected you can’t type. How did you logon to your computer if the keyboard wasn’t connected? So many questions in my head your post just generated…

More importantly, they've exposed TAL as not being in most people's basket unless it was that cheap.
And it seems 13% would have been the "in cart" additional discount, since many vendors max theirs out around 11%.
I am one of those that wouldn't ever pay the TAL MSRP/MAP...
I might consider them at 50% off with the vendor adding another 13% off in cart...
But given that I don't actually need them it would be a impulse in collection anyway.
(I feel this way about some other companies too such as DIscoDSP or Cherry Audio, which are things that often lose out to the thought of "I'd rather get coffee." Not saying they aren't good, just not competitive enough to be a consideration any other way for me.)

TBH, I would have gotten it (TAL-J-8) for that price, but, I'm not that interested in it that I would pay full price, or even 1/3 or 1/2 off.BBFG# wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2023 5:05 pm More importantly, they've exposed TAL as not being in most people's basket unless it was that cheap.
More has to do with the synth itself though. TAL is good. Maybe a bit overrated here, as typical for KVR Audio.

Cost of living increases means cost of living increases for everyone working at TAL, too.NikkiA wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2023 2:50 pm I actually lost some respect for TAL when he quietly bumped the price of his existing synths during the cost of living crisis.
