Mucking about with building drum sounds on synths and plugins, good fun.
Hoping I remember to sample some of these so I can build a few racks out of them.

Got the Crave and Edge synced up to my DAW via Pam's. Took longer to figure out than I'd hoped, but was misled by a load of old forum posts that seemed to use incorrect key codes. Ended up simply running the Synthtribe application and changing the settings of each via USB. ftr, I set Assign on the Crave to output standard clock and set the internal clock to run off 24ppq triggers and then sent those from Pams. Works nicely and I think loses something without that really tight integration between the two.
Used the Baby Audio Comeback Kid plugin on both and it works a treat. If I remember to do it next time I set them up I'll try with that Waves LoFi Space delay plugin, I bet that would be good too.

Finally sat down and RTFM'ed some Waveform info and LX49+ manuals to get the ferking knobs and sliders to control Waveform's volume and pan.
SUCCESS, after a few false starts. While thee knobs and faders aren't motorized, I can niow do a rough mix via the controller keyboard and finish with the mouse. It does improve the mixing experience, reminds me of the old days messing about with my Peavey mixer (yes, I'm THAT old).
A motorized setup would be perfect but I'm not willing to fork out a grand for a full auto Mackie control surface. Maybe if I get rich and famous...

Did my final upgrade for Vital to Pro, replacing yet more soft synths and clearing up plugin clutter. Less scrolling to find things, yaay!!
I think I'll sell off the MPD218, the LX49+ has replaced it.
Integrating Visual Synthesizer into my workflow to add abstract music video creation to my never-ending pile of crap that I spend my last few years on. It's as big a pain as learning After Effects was! And I thought I'd spend my so-called 'Golden Years' (bah!) on a beach, stoned out of my mind... not behind a keyboard (computer AND MIDI) 28/8/400. FEH FEH FEH...

Updated Synth Anthology 4 and it all seems perfect now. There are some lovely sounds in there and I really like the arpeggiator. Using that in split instances with Unify over D16 Drumazon 2 plus some effects and it's real one man band stuff. But you know, actually listenable.

Tried some things:
AudioThing Lines: very cool, freq shifter/distortion effect (mostly) but also kind of an unusual synth/drum machine. The built-in LFO is really not enough, but adding on Bitwig modulators and external processing will get to places I would never have gone with a more typical approach.
Hy-ESG: a free Euclidean tarnce gate plugin. I wasn't that excited by it at first, when just feeding it drones -- in retrospect I think it probably is more fun adding accents/dynamics to percussive/rhythmic parts. But then I tried three instances with different rhythms inside Bitwig Harmonic Split, and that was super cool.
Midinous: An unusual standalone MIDI sequencer, you place dots for notes or MIDI CC values and connect them with lines to create one-shot or looping sequences. Rhythm is controlled by the line length (and they can follow the grid or cut acorss diagonally for different rhythmic possibilities), you can connect dots to multiple other dots and have it do round-robin, random or simultaneous pathing, and notes can shift the pitch/velocity/length relative to previous notes for various generative options. It's creative, but honestly I don't see myself getting into that kind of flow, so I'll pass.
Seqund: Step sequencer VST plugin, where you can set different lane lengths for gate, length, velocity, and two pitch lanes (with another lane controlling the probability of picking A or B), as well as MIDI CC... I liked this one immediately, but I want to demo some alternatives first.

I managed to buy enough melda plugins in sales over the years to upgrade to their 'everything' bundle for a relatively small sum a while ago and it is great how more and more cool stuff is getting added (to me essentially for free) every few months. The latest release brought their MGuitarArchitecht plugin and as an owner of some really good dedicated plugins from the likes of Neural DSP and Line 6 I wasn't expecting much, but I have to say just flicking through some of the presets (I especially like the Ambient ones) there are some gorgeous sounds in there. Just now I stuck a capo on the third fret of my Jazzmaster and played some arpeggiated open chords in A minor over the "Dreamy stereo maker" plugin and it gave me an instant Johnny Marr mid-era Smiths sound.

I had a good play with the grapes of rap.
Ok, not really, because I don't do anything close to hip-hop. Whatever. I had a purple RD6, but decided that I didn't like the color. So it went back even though it was $10 cheaper than the other colors. Then all the colors were $139, so I waited. The lime green one, and only the lime green one, went on sale for under $120. And done!
I have not been impressed with the moog trio demos. I think that people are just too in love with Moog and can't seem to unwedge them from their backsides. Sorry, I have never been a Moog fan, and even less of a Moog fan fan. I will say though that the Behringer gets the form factor right for my tiny "one trick pony" minimal techno rig. Not huge and bulky and with an ocean of panel space, yet, not quite Eurorack cramp levels. I'm keeping the edge. It took Amazon nearly three months to ship it to me at a discount, but whatever, it's here now and I like it. I'm less of a fan of the crave, but I might like it more as a slave to the edge. For my tastes, the simple knob based sequencer is a better choice for a live improve rig. We'll see.
At any rate, bleepy minimal techno without the over the top 909 for a half hour was fun,.
