For me NKS2/MK3 hardware really doesn't add enough to make it worthwhile at this time. Happy to stick with the very well supported NKS1.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

So my next question on nks2 is: presumably Reaktor will get the parameter grouping Metadata stuff to make use of page grouping. But will users be able to assign pages to ensembles outside of what they do for the factory ensembles?

You can do that already as long as the ensemble is setup to expose automation to Komplete Kontrol and doesnt go beyond 128 IDs- I've setup most of my favourite ensembles for Kontrol and once you haveca template to can save out snapshots as presets with the template appliedEchoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Oct 09, 2023 12:41 pm So my next question on nks2 is: presumably Reaktor will get the parameter grouping Metadata stuff to make use of page grouping. That functionality is probably not coming to Reaktor. Not 100% sure though, but it seems unlikely.

The sad thing about NI is that most of their plugins are not scaling well or at all at 4K. And it's comical.
Battery is a joke in 4K.
I still love almost all of their Kontakt Libraries though. I almost only use their sampled instruments, even though I have the Ultimate edition of their Komplete. Synths and fxs don't appeal to me at all.

I am a bit confused regarding NKS 2. I am using the S61 MK2. Will I be able to access the grouping features on my existing keyboard?

According to NI forum they're making Kontakt resizable (IIRC already implemented in the latest beta).

I own over US$1200 in NI instruments and plugins.
Due to lack of use, 50% of them have been deleted to save disk space. Most have been replaced with things like Vital and ZebraHZ.
For me, NI doesn't provide the kind of tools I need.. which is fine, it's a personal choice. But I've stopped buying from them.
Meh.

Does that include the graphics of the instruments hosted in Kontakt? That's the stuff I actually use/tweak, Kontakt is just a 'frame'. Halion claims to be resizable but you just make a massive 'frame' around a tiny instrument!

That is up to the companies that built them.

That is what I suspected. Not much use to me currently (I mainly use 3rd party stuff)
I guess the NI Kontakt Instruments GUIs are at least resizable ?
