I hate subscriptions, and I won't consider taking on this one, at all. I like Rift and Cluster Delay, and I hope they don't botch that up for me, too. Sustainability of a plug-in business is not easy to achieve, it seems, but as a consumer, I can't have all these different companies latched onto me, sucking money month after month--that is not sustainable for me.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Discarded and as someone said earlier this subscription thing saves you money because you discard these companies.

Yeah, this is something I've observed companies doing, not just in music, but in general. It goes something like this: Announce (or "leak") new terms for their product. Users revolt, and the company then issues an "apology" - usually with the phrase "We hear you!" or "You spoke, and we listened! or something to that effect - and then announce new terms that are slightly less egregious than the previous version. Most users back down, and those that don't are told that they are ungrateful.

Nah.

Guide to life - never attribute to conspiracy what can be better attributed to stupidity.

That would be such a dumb strategy. People who weren't Waves customers didn't suddenly rush to them just because they reverted to how they used to do things. They did a lot of damage, which they limited. They thought they could railroad something through, and failed. Just as Minimal will fail because of this.

A man called Gerald Ratner forever disproved the lie "there's no such thing as bad publicity". The idea that this is some clever clever stunt is for the birds. It's just a really dumb decision that they will ultimately have to row back on.

Sugarbytes Effectrix2 upgrade pricing, and now Minimal's synth subscription.

You wait ages for a VST company's epic marketing fail and then two come along at once.

Really like the effects and have them all ... but no, I won't be subscribing to any service. I hope the effects don't go the same way.

I expect that sub-crap from the likes of Slate Digital. I'm surprised at minimal audio (I have their bundle).

So they can shove that sub right up their arse! LOL

And avoid the painful realisation that we were always going to go back to Serum and Diva anyway!

Current seems decent, but €10 per month for a synth? lol no. I guess we’ll find out soon enough if there are enough customers willing to take that deal.

What a mad thing to do. So you subscribe and then unsubscribe and then what happens to your projects?

Why don’t these companies understand that buying an instrument means you have to invest time in learning how it works? Even if they have some clever analysis that people end up spending more on perpetual licences than on a sub, people hate the idea of investing their time in something that they may lose access to.
