The Pro 3 is a techno monster!egbert101 wrote: Sun Oct 08, 2023 10:41 am Not sure it will work for the genres he's interested in though.
Missing a synth to complete my set.

Thank you for your feedback.
Really a very good machine and a really top sequencer.
Indeed, really typical for Techno.
Really very satisfied with my choice.
Once again a big thank you to you for your opinions, answers and for helping me choose the machine best suited to my needs.

Considering the Prophet 5 was used in Pump up the Jam, for part of the bass and the all those string stabs and pads.
The OTA filter on the pro 3 should do that close enough, and the SEM filter can do more resonant Acid style and aggressive sounds. At least based on how it sounds on my Andromeda.
Oberheim SEM is actually used in some Psy trance tracks for bass
Andromeda drums and SEM filter sounds

Which one did you get ? regular or SE flip top version?Trancer wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 7:19 pm Excellent choice.
Regarding the Pro 3, I highly recommend it.
For now it is stable and no problems
I'm worried about the regular version's vinyl sticker front panel coming off after many years...

Thanks for your return.
I took the normal version.
It seems to be quality.
A sort of sticker, I didn't have fun scratching it, but it really doesn't worry me over time.

How are you getting along with it? Does it surpass your expectations? It really is now out of my price range over the recent price rises unfortunately. I may consider a Take 5, but that's about as expensive as I can do for now.

Thank you for your reply.
Well, pretty well thanks.
It's a super powerful synth, so I'm really at the beginning of discovering it.
What I can already say is a mega powerful and really easy to use sequencer.
A hell of a machine, I really don't regret it.
It's a personal taste of course, even if I love the Moog sound, I prefer the Pro 3.
The sound palette of the latter is really very vast and from the softest to the most aggressive.
Indeed, excessive price it is true.
A question of taste once again and what you are looking for in a machine, but I will wait to have the necessary sum and take the Pro 3 (3-way mono/paraphonic).
The Take 5 (5-way polyphonic), so not the same machine and the same usefulness.

Even though I have Diva, I am thinking about getting a Behringer Model D. It might seem weird to do that, but I mean it's just a few hundred $$ versus $4,999 for a new Minimoog.
