I don't blame TAL for any of this, however I am choosing to no longer use his products because I think he failed to reach out and communicate to those who were affected, it was all just left to unravel for nearly a week.
chk071 wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:16 pm It's absolutely beyond me how someone can choose to not buy from TAL anymore because of this. That's, sorry, utterly stupid. Especially as it was so well communicated what happened.
Literally untrue, no one knew what was going on.
Jac459 wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:13 pm Agreed. But the good news are:
1 - there are a lot of drama queens upset and that is always a good thing. 😄
2 - TAL just lost a handful of problematic customers, the toxic ones hoping to get 100 USD product for 10 USD regardless of the other party losing money. I think it is a good news for TAL and I am happy for this great developer.
I think you're a prime example of being toxic with your personal attacks.

That's as entitled as it gets, but, suit yourself.

is this sarcasm? :)
No, not at all. Or don't you know what happend by now?
But this is pure trolling. There are dozens of pages in this thread alone where people asking what is wrong with their order at AD, and even a linked reddit thread with the same content. You have to follow TAL Software at twitter/X to even be aware of what he posted, days after all this.
If the communication had gone right the last 30 pages including this post wouldn't exist.
How some people always try to twist the truth is beyond me..
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know, only because Patrick wrote to me in several private letters. However, I still see that there is no official communication about this on his part, in the existing ones he points to the AD (see twitter: https://twitter.com/ToguAudioLine/statu ... 9782950001

I don't care about the business part (distributors), I don't care who gets a license. I also understand (and agree with !) his business arguments.
I am interested in the human thing, that he continues to point to AD, he is unable to admit (not in private) that this is mostly his fault or post a statement saying, "kids, sorry, it's mostly our fault that this situation happened."
And before you say it doesn't matter that he says he's sorry: it does matter, because human things matter a lot in this world. This is what, for example, distinguishes a small company that pays attention to its customers from others. At least I think so.

And I know there are fanboys here (this is a TAL forum), for whom the facts don't matter either. And I have no problem with that either, I also have my favorite things, people, and developers. :)

TAL supports offline activations, gives free updates, his plugins are top notch and not expensive and guys then move on to online activation companies, where small updates also cost money etc. just because you missed a deal. lol
i support TAL, u-He and many others who give you offline activations without cloud shit and so on and they should be supported more. i too am so angry that i missed a lot of past deals and so on but other than that thats it.

best example is recent Minimal Audio's drama, they offer NFR licenses, no offline activation + a new sub only synth. with subs you have even less sale chances lol

Who cares about missing a deal, it is the way TAL handled the communication that was wrong.

Stop trolling about missing a deal please and read what people are actually saying.

I know that is hard when you are in the TAL tunnel and you cannot think out of the box.

Post

Had people bought directly from Tal's store I would 100% agree.

I don't know what Patrick told AudioDeluxe or when, so until then I am not sure it was him not AD that was to do the 'proper' communication.

What exactly is the added value of this post other than being toxic?

these days, staying silent on social media and letting the problem forget about itself after a few months is actually a decently successful strategy. maybe classier than airing all the dirty laundry anyway.

Post

I can't believe TAL's social media team and PR firm aren't all over this! You'd think the brand and marketing folks could step in, but silence from them too! Nothing from their crisis management folks either! Maybe we should get regulators involved.

I'm not speaking about the dirty laudry, just a message to the hundreds of potential TAL customers whose order was cancelled.

This is becoming a major international incident.

Again a perfect example of overexaggerating from a spin doctor.

Yes but i suspect such a message would inevitably get into the "why" of the cancellation, which gets into dirty laundry, blame game, etc, at least from what we've seen so far. Otherwise what would be the point of the message?

Thanks :-). I hope I am. Being toxic with Karens is always a good think, it is a way to bring back balance to the force.

More seriously, and if you want me to be more direct, I find it important for TAL to know that their clients base is not a bunch of entitled Karens but that they have also have supporters here.
I couldn't care less about Karens being offended but I care a lot more about a very talented programmer being disgusted of this market or KVR because of a few individuals...
