Give them a chance.....How many people on KVR are perfect? How many of you #$@#'ed up in your lives? Dont be so harsh. Sometimes people make bad choices, and thats ok. What matters is if they correct it. So lets see what happens.

Good news. It'll be worth it for them in the end, and I'm glad they appear to have listened sooner rather than later.

Like with Waves, some here will have made voodoo dolls and will never forgive. I think overall those people are a small part of their market (as opposed to those who won't do subs, which is a huge part of the market). Most of us are pragmatic and understanding, and happily accept it when companies fess up to errors and correct them.

Not to pile on, but 'listening sooner' would have been when Waves and Avid and all the other vendors went through their respective subscription fiascos. They chose to listen later.

This situation was only going to turn out one way... exactly they way it already has. The evidence has been staring them in the face for months, and they chose to move forward anyhow. Not only that, but they deliberately withheld the fact that this was going to be a subscription model from all the pre-release reviewers because they knew a sub only model was going to be unpopular, and tried to game the reviews by withholding the most important key detail until after the reviews were done. Their entire approach has been nothing short of sleazy.... arguably as bad as what Bitwig tried to pull last year.

IMO they 100% deserve everything they are getting (minus the unprofessional personal insults of course).

Sure, silly them but so what? If they get it right now, 2 drama days will be long forgotten (by most of us). And - I strongly suspect - it'll be a useful lesson for them to not do anything like it again. And one more more data point for every other developer.

Companies aren't friends, it's not a personal betrayal just a daft business plan mistake.

No one in this thread has ever said this, so not sure why you decided to build this strawman.

This is delusional but funny. It's like you're confusing a business transaction with a family relationship.

Actually every third post screamed that it was a betrayal. The developer got abuse. No strawmen needed.
