Death threats, jeezus. I think they should say f_ck all a yall and quit the plugin dev business entirely to go write software for banks, where it's easy to do well, and the sub fees are super huge. :tu:

great!

I saw this synth and thought it looked nice (although purple!), then I saw it's subscription only.

Hey everyone —

Obviously yesterday we made a lot of mistakes. Here is our plan to correct them:

TLDR: killing subscription.

We welcome any feedback as we begin to move forward with this new plan.

Absolutely the right outcome, the Kilohearts model plus content when doing RTO. Kudos. I will be buying Current almost certainly.

It's not for me but I wish you well and good luck.

So I think the basics are:

Subscription in its initial form gone

Synth perpetual $200 - but none of the extra content

Rent-to-own - monthly fee for all Minimal content, also giving you store credit to buy permanent licenses if you stop. (I think).

The RTO does seem pretty confusing, I guess they'll have full details written down at some point.

Kudos to Minimal for backing down so quickly, anyway.

keep in mind you get NFR licenses! never forget. also dash glitch said no one got told about subscription etc. so it is fishy. i for myself dont trust this move and this company anymore. very fishy moves...

That's the Kilohearts model - I much prefer that

UVI's much more expansive Falcon, at $244 right now with an additional $100 soundware coupon, is a much better deal. I think people were expecting $100-$150, but at $200 (which is $274 Canadian, ugh!) it's just too high, IMHO, for an unproven new-to-market synth launched during challenging economic times for consumers. But I wish you well.
