i have several projects on my windows machine, that is from 2012, 6800k, 64gb ram.
and i have a macbook i9, 64gb ram, lot of projects just don't run on bitwig on my mac, even when i open projects from ableton maded in this mac it freeze all the time, is impossible to work with, pretty laggy also, scrool and zoom is terrible.
So i think i have to stay in live. Anyone experiencing the same? i'm using bitwig 5

It seems like a bug.... I don't have an i9 but I would guess the m1 isn't better even if newer generation yet bitwig is absolutely running fine on such a config and with a snappy UI.
My usage is quite heavy. All my tracks have multiple effects with external plugins and audio side-chaining. I never bounce a track to make it easier on cpu.

I use heavy plugins like DIVA, serum, Falcon, phase plant, Pigments, no issue.

I finally moved to an m2 pro because the m1 (with 8gb memory) was starting to struggle with Ozone advanced running all its modules for mastering on the same live song.
So basically, if you are being reasonable not like me and you run your mastering chain on a bounced version of your track you shouldn't have any issue .

confirmed(m1, 16GB macbookpro) although wouldn't say "impossible" but the project needs to be divided into 8-10 tracks (luckily BWS has a project selector to support this), yet Bitwig may still encounter difficulties when numerous automation tracks are utilized.

so/but utilizing 8 tracks and displaying automation only on the selected track can work effectively for me

so I'm using the selected instead of all

Try to download a demo and see how it will run on your machine (You can load a demo song and duplicate some tracks to push it a bit)
yepp has this one, it can do it even with the audio engine turned off, so it seems like this is the price of multi-platform support
