Really impressive synth. It's actually one of the only straight forward single sample players that has a good clean stretch mode. That plus the granular together and the other oscs is great. And the MPE implementation is excellent. First synth I think I've seen with a nice easy set of curves for the mpe mod sources, outside of equator. Not quite as flexible as equators mod source curves, but it does most of what you'd want with any start and end point and a curve in between. Things are very well laid out and the mod system is very nice. Great design. Could do with an overdriven filter or two, but the filters aren't bad at all.

Actually at 200USD, with the Synth and all effects and modulators, I think it does make sense. It is a bit less expansive than the Kilohearts offer (ultimate) and it seems to be close in terms of value. But of course, Phase Plant awesomeness is more than proven. Current still need to be testedMinimal Audio wrote: Fri Oct 13, 2023 12:30 amYep, it includes all the effects inside of Current's effect rack and the other effects we're planning on adding to it. Just to be clear, the audio engine (oscillators, modulators, effects, etc.) will always be the same regardless of how you purchase Current. It's the huge library of content that we're going to separate out as "expansion packs", which we think makes sense because we got a lot of feedback from people saying they didn't want to have to pay for it. Hope that makes sense![]()
Anyway, I really wish you all the best. Your product seems to be in capacity of being a successful super synth with the right pricing, support over time and marketing.

Feedback is:Minimal Audio wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 10:10 pm Hey everyone —
Obviously yesterday we made a lot of mistakes. Here is our plan to correct them:
TLDR: killing subscription.
We welcome any feedback as we begin to move forward with this new plan.
1 - Making this video was very courageous.
2 - Owning your mistake (and I do agree it was a bad mistake, sub should either be ridiculously low priced, either not existent) is mature and shows your smartness
3 - Your value proposition now seems to make a lot of sense
4 - I am impatient to test and probably buy your 200USD synth and effects.
5 - It is ok to value your RTO customers, but keep in mind that most of us will go to one time 200USD purchase and later purchase additional content from time to time. Please don't make us feel like 2nd class citizen. Kilohearts is awesome for that. Their premium offer is perfect. They add content with presets that I can't access but I don't feel missing out because if I want to buy a preset bank, it is cheap and the marketing around these preset is very fun to watch.

In other words we will never pay “additional fees” for future FX added to the synth itself (while under RTO or perpetual), but pay for the FX only as independent plugins to use outside Current.Igelhaft wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 5:11 amRegardless of whether you’ve purchased a perpetual license via the one time fee, purchased a perpetual license through the rent-to-own program, or do not have a perpetual license yet and have access via the rent-to-own program.liquidsound wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 4:58 am What does it even mean “how”.
Can you expand on this since it seems you understand it perfectly?
The question they were responding to was
Assuming that the perpetual version includes all the built-in effects, will any additional effects added by future updates also be included free-of-charge for perpetual owners? Will any new sound engines be included free-of-charge?
Correct?

Correct?
That would be the right thing to do indeed.

Hi!
I want to demo Current! But I cant! There is no Paypal option on checkout. Only credit card.
No one I know here in Germany has a silly credit card!
Really cant believe this.. I cant get the product because I dont have a credit card? Seriously?!

Credit cards not a thing in Germany? Didn't know that. Opposite for me here - a company I get contact lenses from recently reorganized and went PayPal only, used to be credit card. Lost me (and others) as a customer, as I had issues with PayPal previously (won't touch them with a bargepole now). Also get airmiles etc from credit card. PayPal-only is big no no for me - kinda surprises me that some places live only with PayPal..

From what I can tell so far, CPU is on the low side (much better than Pigments) and sound is really stellar. I could see this becoming my go to synth.
I'm pretty sure I will get it eventually. $200 at launch are a bit hard to justify, given that I do have a number of fairly similar synths already, but once there will be the eventual 30% discount I'm probably in.

So if I am correct:
When I use RTO and paid in total the $200,- over the months, I am able to receive a license for Current so I can stop the RTO? And the only difference between the bought version and the RTO version is that the cloud with presets and wavetables and samples are missing? So all FX are still in, the synth itself is still complete? And what if there is a sale? will the $200 dollar be eligible for the sale or does it only counts for full prices? I ask this because I once had a KHS subscription and when I received my voucher Phaseplant was half-priced but I could not use the voucher for this sale price. Bit of a dissapointment it was.

Thank you I will demo it. If it has Oscillator waveshapers, like those in Vital or Surge XT, then I might buy it. The only issue is that if it really overlaps with those synths (including Pigments), then it's just GAS.gondii wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 9:00 amFrom what I can tell so far, CPU is on the low side (much better than Pigments) and sound is really stellar.
