Ruining some reseller’s birthday sale is not in my list of activities that deserve my empathy. I’m empathetic to people who own their mistakes though. But I still prefer to stay on the less dramatic path when it comes to business.Uncle E wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 3:16 pm Do you not understand this or do you just lack empathy for it?

Which wouldn't rumble on for 10+ pages if melodrama queens were able to stand not getting such great plugin(s) for so little money. They would forget about $10 "one knob buzzilator xXx" after one minute, but with TAL they just can't let it go - suddenly TAL "has to respect the sale, cause it's good and I wants it".
Luckily, no way but letting it go.
Hope to see J-8 news sometime in this topic, and perhaps about new instrument or big updates for old ones.
Weapons of choice (subject to change):
Godin Redline, Kuassa, Fuse Audio, Audiority, Roland A-500pro, Dune, Dagger, TAL, Reaper for Rock & Synthwave pleasures; Viper and FL Studio for guilty EDM pleasures

So, you want to have this topic changed to its normal state, but had to add stuff like "mellodrama queen", frame those who wanted a good plugin for little money as if they are normally looking for snake oil one knob plugins.Dencheg wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 7:37 pm

I mean, that is really confusing, isn't it?
I can forgive TAL, no problem, but all this fanboy BS. Some people have really hurt your feelings. Keeping on adding fuel to the fire doesn't really help, does it?

fanboy BS, lol.
you have no inherent right for a transaction to be completed when clearly a mistake has been made.
of course it is a nice gesture if someone is still fulfilling those at a (big) loss, but any sane seller has conditions in their term of sale that will free them from the fulfillment and to cancel+ refund a transaction if clearly a mistake has been made.
and it doesn't matter if it happens to some multi billion dollar mega corporation, or some small seller or manufacturer next door, wether he is loved by many, or hated because of their usual business practices.
even Amazon, despite generally being pretty generous in such regards would never fulfill something when they are unwillingly loosing 80-90% of their revenue because of a mistake.
the logical, and imo fully legitimate and acceptable way is to refund the affected customers.
shit happens, so what?
personally i would never expect more, but there seemingly are enough butthurt princes(ses) around who think that the whole universe has to be revolving around them

I am not in the melodrama queen camp because I honestly don't give a damn that I bought J-8 on release years ago at a discounted price and haven't paid a dime since and someone else managed to get a copy for $11 via a mistake. Wouldn't have cared if I bought J-8 the day before this sale/mistake.
No, I think the melodrama queen camp are the folks who found a deal too good to be true and are moaning that they're owed something other than a refund of their money. And sorry to those who seem to be butt-hurt over the fact that TAL has fans of their stuff. Boo-f**king-hoo folks. This is what happens when a lone dev puts out good quality software at a fair price for years.

i bought it at full price, but i also wouldn't have any regrets if Patrick was now giving it away for free to others.
thing is though, he didn't intend to do so, but some still seem to think they have all the rights to get that deal that was made by mistake and that they've been robbed, despite having gotten their money back, or at least have the option to get it back

First, this is not really what he meant. Second, not even a 5yo would fall for your attempts at spinning this. Third, i think you're projecting.Dark Fiber wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 8:00 pmSo, you want to have this topic changed to its normal state, but had to add stuff like "mellodrama queen", frame those who wanted a good plugin for little money as if they are normally looking for snake oil one knob plugins.Dencheg wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 7:37 pm

I never understood why people covet others their discount. It's beyond me. If I buy something on release day, I know what I'm doing, and that the product most likely will be cheaper at some point. Pathetic to complain about that.DashOfLime wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 8:15 pm I am not in the melodrama queen camp because I honestly don't give a damn that I bought J-8 on release years ago at a discounted price and haven't paid a dime since and someone else managed to get a copy for $11 via a mistake.
Threads like these are quite revealing. About the people who post in them.

I won't be able to make music until my $11 J-8 purchase is honored and an official apology issued.
