Just a heads up for anyone that cares: Matt Tytel has ghosted his own product forum for almost a year now. I wouldn't be holding my breath for news or updates for Vital any time soon.

I found a post from him from April this year though? https://forum.vital.audio/t/matt-are-you-ok/11866/68Weasel-Boy wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 8:11 pm Just a heads up for anyone that cares: Matt Tytel has ghosted his own product forum for almost a year now. Also, it looks like he posts regularly on his Discord. Seems all less dramatic than people make it (once again).
God forbid what would happen if devs wouldn't sometimes post on forums or on social media these days.

God forbid people want a product they paid for to be bug free. There are still issues with 1.5.5 regularly reported at Matt's own company forum that he has failed to address going on a year and he's still selling that buggy plugin, apparently without remorse. If he has time to post on Discord then he has time to post on his own company forum.chk071 wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 8:54 pm God forbid what would happen if devs wouldn't sometimes post on forums or on social media these days.
Then there is what he promised to people who subscribed (he is also still selling the subscription plan):
Has he delivered on any of that? You have been following the story all this time right?
When you accept money for a product you then own your customers a working product and a reasonable level of support. If you can't or won't provide those then you need to stop selling that product and go out of business. Period.
That's not "drama" that's a simple fact of business.

It is a very popular synth now. I think it would be not wise to just let it die with time! There should be a plan for version 2.0 already!
Anyway, for me, I don't feel I want to use it because of its development inactivity. I prefer to use other wavetable synths because they have active development and updates.

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I do enjoy Vital - but it has some drawbacks.
When Vital came out, I was planning to buy Serum. But I ended up purchasing Vital, since it seemed very promising and the developer (Matt) seemed to be very enthusiastic about the synth.
I did demoed Serum very much, and I think it has some benefits over Vital (even though it is very old synth). But Serum's developer seems to be very active in his forums - even after all these years he is still keeping communication alive. Keeping the synth very much alive. I think that is really great and gives more hopeful feeling about Serum's future. I do compare Vital to Serum since Vital was say to be the Serum killer.
I still enjoy Vital. But I do worry how will happen with the bugs etc. And if there will be new version and new bugs will the dvelopment be on hold again for a long time without bug fixes...

I think for those who paid nothing, they are fine mostly as they consider it free, but for those who paid for the plus and pro licenses, they are expecting more than now. In short, if I knew it would be like this, I wouldn't have bought it. (something is telling me there is a grammatical error in my if statement

As a non-native, I can't help you on the grammar partEnGee wrote: Sun Oct 15, 2023 12:09 am I think for those who paid nothing, they are fine mostly as they consider it free, but for those who paid for the plus and pro licenses, they are expecting more than now. The idea of any synth killing another is simply silly. They are all good tools. Serum is a great synth despite being old.
Besides, Phase Plant is the Serum killer

Phase Plant is the everything killer... From a rational point of view, it has everything...stoopicus wrote: Sun Oct 15, 2023 4:45 amThe idea of any synth killing another is simply silly. They are all good tools. Serum is a great synth despite being old.

And there are things that have everything… but… that’s all they haveJac459 wrote: Sun Oct 15, 2023 5:17 amPhase Plant is the everything killer... I agree... It is also about the general feel, how fun it is to use, etc.liquidsound wrote: Sun Oct 15, 2023 5:25 amAnd there are things that have everything… but that’s all they haveJac459 wrote: Sun Oct 15, 2023 5:17 amPhase Plant is the everything killer... If you take extremes, Synthmaster 2 is a beast, the UI has nothing wrong but somehow it isn't very fun to use. On the opposite side you have Twin 2 by Fabfilter. A limited VA, with great filters but very few features. Yet is it a joy to use and play with...
Phase Plant is a bit in between.
But one of the major criticism on phase plant was what BONES was saying about the filters. It was a bit limited (or at least unpractical) when they were only in the FX lanes.
The fact that it can now be attached to the oscillators is a big deal.
It brings Phase Plant one league up... A league I don't see a lot of synths being... We can argue on Falcon or Omnisphere but then the fun factor is very low on those 2 (IMHO).
