Standard gives you (over the Element):
Stainless steel frets
Better pickups
A power transformer passive boost (!)
Different color on the back and neck that I prefer
Neck and body binding
5-way (vs 3-way) switch with two different phase modes
Classic style inlays
A very nice gig bag (seriously, probably worth $50-100 on its own)
- so, lots of cosmetic diffs, but some actual functional ones as well.
TBH the power transformer, while undeniably cool, might be less useful than the focus switch on the Element. I rarely use it.

I see.
In addition there is the new carbon enforcement that strengthens the neck, so it doesn't be affected by humidity (as far as I understood!).
Cool
enjoy your pretty guitar

Half tempted to get a cheap (Squier, Burns etc) version of the Bass VI. Was playing along to some old Cure stuff recently and you just can’t get ‘that’ sound without one. I’m waiting to see what my work annual pay increase (held back since April) is as local gov and unions still butting heads.
When that eventually gets sorted I’ll get pro-rata back pay so I’m really hoping that happens just before Black Friday though my wallet would probably it to be after.

I know a couple people with the Squier one. We're all primarily bass players so they came at it from the other side (like I would). Basically their consensus is it's pretty good, well made but not perfect. One is swapping out the pickups (like many people do right after buying a Squier).WatchTheGuitar wrote: Mon Oct 16, 2023 12:28 pm Half tempted to get a cheap (Squier, Burns etc) version of the Bass VI.

Yes, those Jag style claws seem a bit odd. I’m kind of tempted to get one and a GK-3 so I could use it to generate MIDI bass too.stoopicus wrote: Tue Oct 17, 2023 8:24 pmI know a couple people with the Squier one. I'm wanting to purchase the new headrush prime multi effects pedal. It looks like there are a lot of sounds for guitar and also (subtle) auto tune for when my pitch is questionable

Tuning via my Pod Go the pitch is always questionable from the read out. It will sound perfectly in tune to my ears but I just can't nudge via the tuning pegs to align dead center.Hook0 wrote: Thu Oct 19, 2023 2:01 am I'm wanting to purchase the new headrush prime multi effects pedal. Unless you are using true temperament fretboards it will always sound slightly off. That's the way guitar sound even if you've done your best to intonate them. Sometimes I think part of the mystique of guitar tone comes in the inaccuracy of the notes, If it were pristinely in tune then it wouldn't have the flair. Not to say we should give up all hope of playing an intune guitar or that we shouldn't bother with tuning or intonation.

Too bright for my tastes. I got a brass one on a Yamaha Pacifica.

Interesting! I had no idea! I installed a steel bridge (including block and saddles) into my #1 Strat and it was a huge improvement. Bell-like yet full sounding at the same time.

Succumbed to GAS.
Got an Ashton Viper 50w valve combo @£150 an amp I don't need.
Luckily, I wasn't tempted by the American Fender Telecaster @£499 and the Vox AC30-2 @£450
