Mrs Natural had never seen them aka. bucket list and I last saw them @ their first US tour in 1981. Got floor-level general admission tix thru the u2.com lottery. $600 for the 2 all in after taxes. We flew to Las Vegas for the WED night show. Got to the door at 7:30, band came on 8:30 for 2hrs 15min. YouTube the concert if you want to see examples of what we saw accomplished live. Stellar. Las Vegas was so much bigger at street level - we walked our asses off - 8 miles round trip from our hotel. Getting back from the Sphere was a cluster F due to all the construction on the Strip & sidewalks. The boys are minting coin left and right in residency thru DEC @3 shows per week. I think the best seats would be at the 100 level(or the floor GA if you can find them). No one was sitting in their chairs however. 400 level is very steeply raked & definitely nosebleed worthy w/7 escalators up to get there.
Many are wondering if the 16k video content would "overpower" the musicians, I would say that there was a balance between the stuff on screen and the rock & roll. U2 have always been cutting edge. The band was very polished & professional with Bono not in tune spotlessly at every phrase but did surprise me several times hitting his high notes perfectly. His stage banter is still slightly cringy :=) They didn't feel at all overwhelmed by the massive video as the stage was super stripped-down with zero amps or walls of PA speakers on the sides. Plenty loud but coming from the walls around the stage. The new drummer was tight as was Clayton but Edge is such a singular guitarist. You forget that this is just a three piece band with his understated playing and huge instrumentation. He's the reason this band is what they are.
peace

That Sphere looks amazing and similar to the Back to the Future attraction at Universal Studios. You sit in a replica DeLorean and it's motion simulated and this massive 360 degree movie is playing all around you. It's fantastic.

I disagree. Whoever wrote that information is CLEARLY way off and has no idea on what it takes to create the Sphere.Mister Natural wrote: Sun Oct 15, 2023 10:06 pm O - this is a pretty good explanation of the building https://www.thespherevegas.com/science

I'm not sure CLEARLY, what there is to "disagree" with here as this information was written by the designers of this building . . . it's pretty straightforward science? ? ? wrote: Mon Oct 16, 2023 2:22 amI disagree. Neither do I. I was being facetious. I only understood everything up to the words "The Science". Makes me wonder if A.I. was here all along and Einstein was one of them.Mister Natural wrote: Mon Oct 16, 2023 5:04 pm I'm not sure CLEARLY, what there is to "disagree" with here

The sphere is amazing. With the right visuals the average KVRist in the sphere could put on a better show than a lot of tight acts in ordinary venues.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.
