Thanks friends for put me on the top 5 and congratulations to Nue KatalYst. His song is one of my favorites this round and it has the dreamed drums i would have liked to get from this synth. I tryed during several hours but I wasn't able to make nothing near it.

Thanks to KVR Team for keep me motivated making music. I've started some songs outside the challenge taking advantage the experience adquired from here.

As prizes I want Lunaris 2 from Luftrum and JRR SOUNDS ROLAND TR-909 SAMPLE SET

See you next month.

But I didn't care because it didn't occur to me that you would want to design a kick :-). I learned a lot from this forum. If you like 2RuleSynth, I will go further and make the necessary corrections. Thanks a lot.
Note : As far as I understand you want more precision im loer end of the filter? Is'nt it?

And thanks Borges for this Synth. The only things that didn't convince me were:
-The filter cut steps (already mentioned previously)
-The way to delete the boxed effects. I think is a slowly process during the composition. You have to recolocate the wires but i also understand that with this method I'm free to order the way i want.
And when I open the project on Renoise it throws me this error on every instance and i have to click ON (no iusses later):
"Ouch. The VST3 plugin '2Rule: 2RuleSynthV-3-1 (from 2Rule)' crashed in event, function or class: 'IController::getParamStringByValue', Thread: 'GUI'"

Greetings

Congratulations to all, and especially to the winners, of course! :tu:
This was another fun challenge. See you next month.

Cheers!

Last place. Damn it hurts. Will try to focus on the feedbacks since they were quite positive overall and pointed towards some concrete improvments. Hope I can regain some confidence soon enough.

Congrats to the winners. Was very happy for NeuKatalyst as I saw his song meant sthing special.

Don't worry, 4th place is even more painful ;)

Thank you all for voting on my tune. It's the first time I placed so high. In the past, 30years ago, I was part of the Amiga scene, attending music competitions but never finished better than 5th ;)

I'm glad that my favorite song finished the 2nd. This production is exceptional for multiple reasons. Nice to see such compositions are being rewarded over here.

As for a prize, I have chosen 12 Month Subscription of SoundGym.
You might be surprised by that choice but while having enough instruments I still feel a lack of skills for making conscious decisions.

Please try to stay positive and not be dis-heartened. You are right that there were a lot of positive comments! If your track came last, it is in part because the standard in the OSC has really got quite high. Years ago, there were often many tracks each month that I believe would have placed lower than your track - which had some very good qualities as the feedback shows.
I have been imagining your track performed by classical musicians and I think it would be very good! Just work on what you feel is right to work on next, and enjoy making music, you clearly have passion and talent. :tu:

Thank you friend Zarf
Already feels much better today and ... still very determined to continue producing music.
I know where I want to improve my next track § not so much on the composition itself but on the spacial rendering. Forgot to put attention on it for my last track.

Yes OSC standards are high and this is also what I appreciate. This is a great place to learn and I'm glad we can support each other.

See you next :tu: .

Congratulation all,
I am the developer of 2RuleSynth. I read all the posts, and took notes about your difficulties that you have faced. Frankly, I never thought that this synth could produce such different sounds. thank you for your creativity, and thanks bjporter for the choosing 2Rulesynth for the competition.

My best guess at how this song could be changed to make it place higher:

The bass instrument and sounds should be louder.
The mid range instruments should be quieter or less piercing.
The frantic constant arpeggios could be a shorter sound or more distant somehow.
The song is almost entirely mono (as opposed to stereo) - so making some sounds more spacious would be good. Or the arpeggios could auto pan around.

You could consider some sort of drum or percussion track. Songs don't need them to place highly - but if you already sound amatuer, not adding a drum track can sound like you don't know how to - rather than a creative decision.

Remember I'm no expert and you should only consider these items if you care about your placement. I like strange music that doesn't follow the rules. The breathy sound you did is awesome :)

Keep playing!
