Minimal Audio wrote: Mon Oct 16, 2023 11:11 pm The next update we'll entirely decouple the stream so we can support the new plans, and then we will be happy to add folder drop or a dialog to add folders of content -- once they're imported, everything gets added to a local database which brings some powerful text and tag search capabilities to the content as well.
This seems like a step in the right direction :tu:

Also, please include the Factory content in the installer, It's a PITA being forced to download ONE BY ONE.

Preset loading is very slow for me. It takes about 1 second to load after I click the preset in the browser. It's also the same when I initialize the preset from the menu. What's your experience with that? Can anyone confirm the same? (I'm on M1 cpu)

Now, regarding the user content browsing. I agree that it's not optimal at the moment. Whatever you drag in the browser it lands in one container (User folder) and if you continue to drag more you'll end up with with big pile of unsorted files, which is inconvenient. I understand that it imports for the purpose of populating DB so it can preset categorized stuff in Local mode. I would however expect something different - when I drag a wavetable or sample, it shouldn't import anything but load to memory, and when clicking the next (arrow) it should preserve the current location (you dragged from) for browsing the next files in the current folder. This is like Vital does it - you drag the wavetable from some folder and then when you click next, it loads the next one from same folder, and it doesn't analyze anything it can load any sample you throw at it, and tries to make a wavetable representation as best as it can.

Alternatively, you should be able to add your own content folders with the possibility to rename (just in Current) like it's done in Phase Plant and Pigments. Then you can continue conveniently browsing that folder.

Other than those browsing issues, the synth is very nice. It's super fast to work, very responsive, and fast GUI (except the preset load) with great sound. I'm looking forward to the browser improvements.

Also to those concerned with the Minimal Audio pushing their Stream content. I don't think they want to do it at all costs, diminishing third parties or user content. They provided a way of creating user packs ("Create User Pack" option in the menu), so this suggests that they are open and want to encourage others to create third-party packs for the synth, which is how it should be :)

Update regarding the preset loading issue: it only happens for me in Ableton with the VST3 version of the plugin. I checked VST and AU in Logic - super quick load.

Hello, on your question on preset loading, it takes about 0.1, 0.2 seconds on mine (m2 pro).
It seems like instant but if I try to click next very fast, it kind of stop.

==> one bug report:
one macOS Sonoma, Bitwig 5.0.11, with a UI scale >100%, when I load the screen, the very upper part of the plugin (including the line with the preset name) is hidden. In order to make it appear, I have to click the green macOS window button.

Additional information: I tried to download all the presets to see if it would slowdown, it doesn't.
(I am on VST3 also).

Ok, thanks for the feedback. I reported the issue to Minimal Audio.

Which DAW are you using btw?

fmr wrote: Mon Oct 16, 2023 10:50 pm How do you "remove the record" (delete the entries in the list)? Right click doesn't work, at least in Windows 10. Maybe add a button with the option DELETE, instead of Ignore (what's the purpose of Ignore on a warning about a missing file, anyway?) Oh, and Current created LOCAL files, when I imported wavetables using the Synth option. That's why those are now missing - I deleted them.
You don't see this?
Nope... And that seems like the preset selection box. My issue is with the wavetables and/or samples. How do I remove the entries not found?

As I wrote before... maybe add a "DELETE" button in this dialog box?

I got it just trying to get you a solution so you can get those junk records out of the database, we will add the delete instead of ignore button and allow deletion from the engine pop ups, but if you go to the stream tab, select wavetables, and then filter by the user icon — there is a more robust browsing experience of your user collected wavetables than inside of the wavetable oscillator itself, from this view — you currently can delete those records. We will continue to improve user content with the ability to create and organize more packs like presets

Thanks for the follow up, preset load should be fast — but now that you mention it, it sounds like perhaps in vst3 the audio engine is shutting off, and that could appear like a slow preset load. Playing a note might get it running again, but we got your message to support and will review it thank you!

Hey! You can download full packs, you just need to click the pack image and you’ll enter a pack view with a download all button. The new perpetual builds will have a download all factory content after install. There is too much data to put it all in the installers because all of the presets etc have samples in them it would be many gigabytes of stuff.

You may create a separate download link for the factory content, as other vendors did  Or create something like Native Access (Native Instruments) where you can see the libraries you own (including Factory) and download what you want when you want.

Several GB of content is not a big deal nowadays, IMO. Many sample libraries go over 100 GB.

Found it... thanks. That did work, although I would never have gotten there without your help. It would never cross my mind that a button called Stream would give access to the USER content stored locally. Another thing that could perhaps be revised in the GUI.

Once we know it, it doesn't matter, but until we know, you would be requested to help. Also, in that window, a location path indicator for the user content would probably be very helpful too.

It’s an Ableton problem, also other synths like GForce, Korg, Parawave Rapid and Avenger are affected.
Ableton push is displaying all changing parameters to display on button 1.

Can you please claim this problem to Ableton. I have already started a ticket last year, but it doesn’t get any priority. So it would get more prioritised if some developers would get in touch with Ableton.
It is only vst3 affected and it could be possible that it is only on windows. I don’t know if it also happens on Mac
