Looking forward to trying this. Physical modelling has always been something I love about Realtors. Many really great ensembles out there like steampipe and some odd rachmiel things!

Well… thanks to #martiu I’m rediscovering Reaktor.

Now the challenge is how do I use it in my music :hihi:
If you use it in a track make sure you save the ensemble into your project folder.

Far from ideal in terms of patch management, but you'll be sure your project will be robustly backed up and you won't lose your realtor setup.
Thanks :tu: I will try this week and see if I manage to do that without getting lost with this method.

I hope this wasn't posted earlier in the thread, 'cause search didn't show any results.

There is a short and brilliant tutorial of how to make Monark polyphonic on Reddit that I'd like to re-post here for educational purposes:
1. Enable editing mode, Go to "Panel/Monark/Monark", disconnect from "Volt" cell PK, GT

2. Create "Note Pitch" and "Gate" and connect "Note Pitch" to PK and Gate to GT

3. Go into the "Function" tab of the "Gate" module (right-click and "Properties") and set "Upper Limit (MIDI) to 1 (instead of 127).

4. Still at the same place disconnect "Volt" cell from "Out 1", create "Out Port" and "Audio Voice Combiner" and Connect "Audio Voice Combiner" output to Out 1 and Out 2 and then Connect "Volt" cell output to Audio Voice Combiner input

5. Now go to "Panel/Monark" disconnect Out 2 and connect that Out 2 to Second free Out

6. Go back to "Panel/Monark/Monark" and disable "Mono" in "Volt" cells properties

7. Go to back to "panel" click on Monark name and in Properties page enable as many voices as you want (or how many your CPU could handle...)

Just be aware that Monark will very likely get super loud and probably quite CPU-heavy after this. Also, remember to save this ensemble in your user library.

There's no quitting Reaktor, ever. Probably the last piece of software before the DAW that would get deleted. It's a true desert island thing, especially now that it works so seamlessly in Reaper and I can use Reaper's built in preset system for it all. It just works exceptionally well.

For me it would be the very last. DAW would get tossed overboard to lighten the boat :) but Reaktor is my keeper.

The biggest thing NI could do to instantly turn around many NI haters, since they've made so much money with their sample packs, is making Reaktor open-source.

Post

That is not really possible for a number of reasons, including dependencies on 3rd party libraries which are not open source, and internal NI libraries which will never be open source.

Don’t be surprised if you’ll see your quote on the NI website in the near future :hihi:
