Thanks Contrarian chatbot. I know the Dewey Decimal system. Used it when I researched how to poison my father. Good times. No snoops in the card catalog.

Well, at least you didn't go to his apartment to find bloodstains on the carpet.Teksonik wrote: Tue Oct 17, 2023 1:06 pm [...] The thread I did start "Matt are you OK?" was because I was genuinely concerned about Matt as a person [...]
(I bet you secretly expected that reference, heh)
Somewhat more seriously, being that concerned about a person you apparently (?) don't know personally seems... well, a bit stalker-ish, and not in the sense of venturing into the Zone.

It's not a bit deal at all. But if the forum is dead, why not take it down or redirect the link to Discord?Ou_Tis wrote: Tue Oct 17, 2023 1:13 pm Personally, I hate Discord (so far---I haven't used it much... because I hate it). I'd find having to use it very annoying. But his decision to use the official company Discord instead of the official company forum doesn't seem like that big a deal, especially for a small developer (does he even have any employees?...).

Or....or if the product is dead, why not say so and be done with it? Why keep taking money for it if its no longer supported? I'm just looking for Matt to say something about it either here or or o his own forum, where anybody can view the response.FigBug wrote: Tue Oct 17, 2023 2:59 pm

There is a trend on KVR to call a Product abandonware if it doesn't get a new update every week. Why not accept it as a finished product. It's a free synth that works very well. I did buy the 25$ version to give some support. I consider it freeware but even if you paid 80$ I still think it's worth that.

That might be the whole issue: A price model which simply doesn't work to work full time on the plugin.GeneralQ wrote: Wed Oct 18, 2023 9:27 am There is a trend on KVR to call a Product abandonware if it doesn't get a new update every week. Just speculation, of course. But, from the past, I know that the least people really put money on the table, when they can have most of the product for free.

Making it free was disruptive, probably designed to take out Serum. However, it also seems to have disrupted itself, leaving no motivation left to continue. That's life.

Yes, but if there use to be constant new builds weekly then none, people will naturally wonder.GeneralQ wrote: Wed Oct 18, 2023 9:27 am There is a trend on KVR to call a Product abandonware if it doesn't get a new update every week. Plus I don't accept it as finished when there are long standing reported unfixed bugs.
That said... he did say this in August on his discord channel. rsp

A better strategy, still disruptive, charge 50-75 USD. That's sale price for most comparable synths and many would've purchased.egbert101 wrote: Wed Oct 18, 2023 10:40 am Making it free was disruptive, probably designed to take out Serum.
