I am conducting a series of research to provide basis and inspiration for my self media articles. For me, the answer is FabFilter :phones:

Assuming you are on a deserted island and can only bring one set of plugins, lol

Waves Mercury for sure.

Komplete

I'm not a big fan of bundles generally, I much prefer to pick and choose.

I used to get Komplete, but several years ago it just stopped making any sense for me to upgrade. These days the only NI products I use are Raum (free gift) and Supercharger GT (not from Komplete)...

I have the Voxengo "Everything Bundle" from a KvR charity auction (I miss those). They have a lot of products, and I only use a couple of the ones that don't have free versions. But it was for charity and I have no regrets.

I had Arturia's "Delays You'll Actually Use" and I didn't actually use them. So I resold it.

If I relied on softsynths more I would probably grab Arturia V Collection when it's on sale. I have Easel and Synclavier individually. There are a few others on that list that interest me, not quite enough to spring for the upgrade though.

Another vote for Melda MComplete.
You have (almost) whatever you need at the best quality, free lifetime updates and you also get newer plugins when released

The one that comes with Ableton Live.

If I weren't hopelessly suffering G.A.S. it'd be anything I need.

Considering how cheap UAD stuff is now and the fact it's also recently native I would seriously consider one of their bundles.

TDR Production bundle.

if i absolutely had to limit myself to one dev's bundle of FX, for the initial writing phase i'd go for komplete. the fx are serviceable, with a few gems like replika or raum. hell, i could probably get by with just guitar rig, if forced. (melda is great, but too easy for me to get lost in the weeds there for a few reasons)

for purely mixing, i.e. i'm done (or not involved with) the exploratory/composition stuff, i'd maybe go kush instead. or just stock reaper stuff, keep it simple.

that said, sticking to one dev only is not my idea of a good time, but still a fun experiment or challenge occasionally

VSL Vienna Suite Pro.

I don’t like bundles but I’d go with sales on

UAD mix bundle
Fabfilter total bundle
Komplete

And then get a few uhe, Softube, and gforce synths.

You’d have everything and then some.

Softube probably has the most breadth and quality. Arturia lots of breadth if you don’t mind their quality as it is. Same with Komplete.
