Sorry what meant about "very long", but allowed length of sample for branches processing is 2 seconds max, or meant\exists something other trick ?Sampleconstruct wrote: Thu Oct 05, 2023 5:10 am Loading very long and complex soundscape samples in Genopatch can create some fantastic results,

Am I overlooking somthing ?
Modulating the pitch of Osc A( by envelope ) , also modulates the Pitch of Osc B
Choose init patch , set osc mix fully right ( so only osc B is heard ) , set pitch modulation for osc A to full .
Result: pitch Osc B is also modulated
Screesnhot

Sounds about right - B's pitch is an offset from A's pitch so modulating A would also modulate B (but I could also be overlooking something...).

Synplant 2 is an amazing plugin! I bought the upgrade right after its release and it is so much fun to use.. This is a short video I made during the work of a recent project. 2 instances only, a sample file of water dripping and starting from the init patch, experimenting with the branches and the DNA, which led to a wonderful and lush strings sound.

I was gripped by the Fading Starlight video. My 1st dive into Synplant 2 is an attempt at resynthesizing nature sounds for a mechanical rainforest type vibe. I bough a bundle of sound fx from asoundeffect.com and made about 60 patches from things like electromagnetic interference and rainforest insects and birds. PETA would be proud of my master work if it paralleled the 1968 masterpiece by the one David Tudor made in 1968 with better gear than me for the option.

In my first test of Genopatch, I found that it was more impressive than useful. A dropped in a sample of a mellotron flute with effects to use as a starting point. It didn't replicate it exactly which was fine because I wanted to edit the result and come up with something new. Dragging the plant leaves was making drastic and unpredictable changes that I didn't like. So I dove into the Genome/synth editor which was fascinating. However, I found there were not a lot of degrees of freedom. There were no extra unused oscillators/filters/effects/eq that you can use to sculpt the sound. The engine is pretty limited and all of its capabilities were already in use. I could make some changes but couldn't really alter it as I desired.
I resynthesized the same flute sample with Tone2 Icarus and got a more usable result. The possibilities of editing a resynthesized patch are greater as well since you can engage filters, effects, another oscillator, etc.
Kudos to SonicCharge for their generous demo policy. It is nice to have the full instrument working without restrictions for a number of weeks. I may give it another go at some point.

I've been running tiny samples through the genopatch.
Some old Kraftwerk records for my own amusement.
I sampled the pulse from Radioactivity as a kick drum, the snare drum from Showroom dummies, the train noise from the start of Trans Europe Express, the synth from the start of Europe Endless and the opening synth from Spacelab.
I didn't necessarily choose the ones that were closest to the sample.
Did a little tweaking in the DNA editor and built a track.
It doesn't really sound like Kraftwerk but it is very reminiscent of Kraftwerk.
I think that's where the strength of the synth lies.
It gets you into the ballpark of something without being a direct carbon copy of it.

Lol! Was that a subtle dig at GForce Software, with their restrictive 'six-hour' total trial policy. Along with limiting their demo plugins. to only showcase the relatively few available 'alpha patches?' (if so, then I concur)Frantz wrote: Wed Oct 18, 2023 3:05 pm Kudos to SonicCharge for their generous demo policy. Sorry, WeaverBeats is not someone I put any stock in.

I'm thinking of a bunch of plugins I looked at recently:MrJubbly wrote: Wed Oct 18, 2023 6:14 pmLol! Was that a subtle dig at GForce Software, with their restrictive 'six-hour' total trial policy. * GForce OB-X - we discussed the demo restrictions to death in the other thread
* u-he Filterscape VA - constant noise bursts
* OP-X PRO-II - audio dropouts every minute
OB-X and Filterscape demo restrictions are so irritating that I just close the plugins because they stress me out.
OP-X PRO-II's issues go beyond the demo restrictions. It has tons of great Oberheim presets available in the demo but the patch organization and UI seem to be designed by a COBOL programmer from the 70s who never looked at a modern plugin.

After looking at their official website, I can believe that.Frantz wrote: Wed Oct 18, 2023 6:56 pm OP-X PRO-II's issues go beyond the demo restrictions. That doesn't even look like a real (professional) website in 2023 (perhaps in 2003). But seriously, it shakes the confidence to purchase from, what looks like it could be a scam site.
^ It's definitely their real site though. The same official one that KVR has linked.

Spot on imho. Plus it doesn't sound that good.

Oh yes, it's a legit site. I bought OP-X in 2009 when I first went ITB. Unfortunately, the few updates they have done were shoehorned into the plugin making it even more convoluted. But we are getting way off topic from Synplant here.MrJubbly wrote: Wed Oct 18, 2023 7:26 pm After looking at their official website, I can believe that.
