I was playing around with drum hits today when I discovered this cool thing about MMS.
If you make your own sample, you can use it as a new kit for the DnB machine!

I'll show you how.
1) Get a .WAV or .wav sample. I haven't experimented with other formats yet.All of the .wav that will be played is 2 seconds and 16 frames, although you can use one that is larger.
2) Copy that file into the C:\MAGIX\ms2005_deluxe\Synth\Data\DrumnBass directory. If you are using an older version of the Studio, just go to the Data\DrumnBass directory. If you are in the right directory, you should see lots of very small wav files with names like "MAGNETO", "CheckIt", "Crackle" and "Crazy".
3) You should see a configuration settings file named "drums". I would reccomend backing this up. Click on it to open it. It should look something like this when opened with notepad:
[Sounds]
Fat One=3dl40337.wav;16

Disregard the empty line (enter key pressed) just above this sentence.
4) Once you have verified that it is the correct file, add a new line to the end of one of those paragraphs below [Sounds] which gives the words you want to appear when you open the menu of the DnB Machine ,and =, and then the exact filename of the sound you want that kit to have, followed by ;16. For example;

Power=Power.wav;16
Simple=Simple.wav;16
Spanish=Spanish.wav;16
Strong=Strong.wav;16
Tech=Tech.wav;16
Work=Work.wav;16
Zapp=Zapp.wav;16
Example=example.wav;16

Do not put another empty line (press enter) like I have done.
If the file (example.wav) is in the folder, the next time you boot up MMS and boot up the DrumnBass Machine, your kit will be in whichever column you stuck it in. First paragraph below [Sounds]=First column on the left.
That should about cover it. The rest of this post is optional. I think this may actually bring up the face value of MMS because this turns the DrumnBass into an interesting kind of sequencer. Enjoy 8)

Optional:
I believe that the number after the semicolon ("Example=example.wav;16") tells the machine into how many parts to divide the 00:00:02:16 part of the sample. As there are 16 parts in the machine for each bar, if the number is 8 the sample plays twice each bar. I'm not sure about this, though.
Also, if you want to make a new column, just put an empty line (press enter) between two listings of samples. But make sure there are three empty lines (enters) between the end of the sample list and before [Tracks].
That is all I know at this point. It would be great to figure out what those cryptic numbers after [Tracks] do.
Enjoy 8) . Sorry about the length.

No one interested? Fine...
