The lesson to be learned from all of is this is the following:
A long time ago, a poor Chinese farmer lost a horse, and all the neighbors came around and said, “well that’s too bad.” The farmer said, “maybe.” Shortly after, the horse returned bringing another horse with him, and all the neighbors came around and said, “well that’s good fortune,” to which the farmer replied, “maybe.” The next day, the farmer’s son was trying to tame the new horse and fell, breaking his leg, and all the neighbors came around and said, “well that’s too bad,” and the farmer replied, “maybe.” Shortly after, the emperor declared war on a neighboring nation and ordered all able-bodied men to come fight—many died or were badly maimed, but the farmer’s son was unable to fight and spared due to his injury. And all the neighbors came around and said, “well that’s good fortune,” to which the farmer replied, “maybe.” And so the story goes.

Illformed deluxe Glitch was ahead of this and the vst version of livecut. Sugar bytes caught a bunch of shit for releasing a knock off back then if my memory serves me. Then DBlue released Glitch 2 which unfortunately never really seemed to get much attention after it came out (like adding all of the Glitch 1 features to it) and the availability of glitch 1 for free kind of boned DBlue and SB.
Having a fully interchangeable signal path is cool, but it would be even cooler if any module could be set to any processor. The modulation in Effectrix2 does add much more flexibility along these lines.

As an owner of the full SB bundle minus the last couple releases, I'll be holding off upgrading this for the foreseeable future. It's a bit silly that they are hitting the existing user base for 80 bucks. I love all the new features and modulation system, but I found workarounds for all my glitching needs years ago. I'll upgrade my bundle when / if a sale comes around.

Reminds me of a Willie Nelson song:
So get around me, you fools for a dollar
Listen to me, a lesson you'll learn
Well there's happiness and love sent from heaven above
And the fires of ambition will burn
Started out with the dreams
And the plans of a wise man
And ended up with the heartaches of a fool
How do they not recognize what is going on with the economy? Ambition, I guess.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Stutter edit 2 is amazing and far more flexible where the features overlap. Considering that SB has basically 3 plugins that only differ in the way one triggers the effects, I find it very hard to believe that anyone is going to want to pay 80$ 3 times just to bring these things up to date (artillery, turnado, and Effectrix. Looperator honestly is just more of the same). They should probably look into updating all their stuff at once to get folks on board.
E2 could be very cool if someone had no other sequenced , glitchy multifx plugins and it can probably cover most of that niche for most users. For people that already have a pile of options, they would have needed to add much much more to Effectrix to make it stand out.

although not exactly the same, Permut8 by Sonic Charge is another fun way to mangle audio.

Permut8 is an all timer.

I love how Sonic Charge just casually dropped the firmware collection which basically expands Permut8 into one of the best multifx processors out there.

Absolute banger of a plugin.

Effectrix 2 is kinda what I always wanted glitch 2 to be. Still a bit steep. I still don't understand why Effectrix and Looperator both exist. They are almost the same thing. They could easily be the same thing. Oh well.

still a bummer, sugar bytes really f*cked this up.... normally i got only good experiences with them. sadly a lot of older plugins dont/didnt get updated with resizable GUIs...

Quick question to people who already use Effectrix 2: Is there a way to reverse sections? The first version had this, but for the new version I can't find anything about it in the manual or the Youtube videos.

I read that on their page. The loopers have the possibility to play back a segment forward and then reversed, but I am looking for a plain reverse option...just like in Effectrix 1 where this was a seperate effect.
