Seems unlikely since granular works with samples and Z3, like Z2 before it, doesn't use samples.BBFG# wrote: Sun Oct 22, 2023 4:18 pm The question that looms in my head for Z3 is if it will have any granular functions?

No, no granular synthesis, no sampler. None of the good stuff
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just don't understand why it wouldn't work with a wave as well.
But I tried to leave the question as open to beyond my limited understanding of it in regards to it maybe being in the built in effects section?
(Similar to what is in Uhbik.)

I'm not interested much in sample-based granular synthesis, but I do like Clouds-like texture synthesis tools in Eurorack. This is why we took the granular algorithms from Uhbik (improved for V2) and added them to MFM2.
Hence, a granular effect is something we might add to Z3 at some point, even if we currently have no plans to have any such thing at its initial release.

That's great!Urs wrote: Sun Oct 22, 2023 4:35 pm I'm not interested much in sample-based granular synthesis, but I do like Clouds-like texture synthesis tools in Eurorack. This is why we took the granular algorithms from Uhbik (improved for V2) and added them to MFM2.

And MFM2 has been on my GAS Radar for awhile now...
Web searching "Clouds-like texture synthesis" now...

Sir I’ll tell you what, you're totally doing some remarkably splendid forum posting over there! Never stop!VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Sun Oct 22, 2023 12:37 pm i didn't want to start a storm in a glass of water or wwiii, just it is very disappointing when developers react the same way showing they don't care about any new ideas about REAL MUSICALITY people like and its natural man to start thinking Why should i care about their stuff if they have no respect to me or my work, aside that DEVELOPERS are heavily dependent from users, reputations so on market stuff..not me.... had nothing but friendly wishes to offer something or to collaborate with somebody in direction i was surprised nobody have develop anything seriously yet .. if you know me in real life i even don't like to criticize....
Anyway lost cause for them and their users, not me ..About other stuff, downloaded Zebra2 at least 5 times, trying to like the workflow and ...each time can't even start i simple stuff like 16x voices ,some de tuning and modulations intuitive way...so obviously ...or i have no sound designers skills at all ...or zebra architecture is super weird to my definition of easy synth and need more time i am willing to spend to learn and make simple things with it......that was what i had in mind about 16x (MAKE IT more intuitive, easy, friendly and this will WIN many new users and friends) ,so no i didn't start to hit anybody with anything negative ,neither expect somebody to start insulting me because of such a simple thing - about filters the fact is that most developers didn't develop enough the idea of more colors, let say from two (or more )filters in serial mod, which listeners absolutely adore...how i know it,i am that listener, musician, artist and creator same time and i can say is it good or not as sound inside real music...to me as 8 000 000 000 other people MUSIC is important not the technology behind ...that was my point this entire time,as most people don''t know and don't care about programing stuff BUT MUSIC is what makes me spend money, time and nerves in places like this:):):)
Sorry for this entire drama,no need to insult somebody who offers something you don't understand or is too different as point of view, than you are interested or care about...all other is wasting of time and neurons:):).Cheers

Waiting impatiently for Zebra 3 reminds me of when I was waiting for years, and years, and years for the James Webb Space Telescope to finally be launched. LOL

What is this real musicality in opposition to the one Zebra 2 offers? And most importantly, what makes YOU an authority to define what is real and what isn't?

I'm baffled by this... Why did you do this to yourself five times? Why did you want to change this very established and very recognized synthesizer into something else? Why not just move to a different synthesizer?
VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Sun Oct 22, 2023 12:37 pm zebra architecture is super weird to my definition of easy synth and need more time i am willing to spend to learn and make simple things with it......
Why, when you have the answer right in front of you, do you still feel the need to offer feedback on a synth that you have obviously have given up on?
And

You write these things with such authority and certainty. But where is this expertise from? What market research have you done?
You seem to have good intentions. But you can't see past your own perspective. That will get you responses like the ones in this thread everywhere, online and offline.

Ah what, sample based synthesis is a powerful addition to mix with analogue and digital oscillators!Urs wrote: Sun Oct 22, 2023 4:35 pm I'm not interested much in sample-based granular synthesis, but I do like Clouds-like texture synthesis tools in Eurorack. Of course it is. Not denying that.Biome_Digital wrote: Mon Oct 23, 2023 9:43 am Ah what, sample based synthesis is a powerful addition to mix with analogue and digital oscillators!
We've had numerous discussions about this in there past, I don't think I have the energy to take up another. Maybe search "sample playback" in our company forum.

Fair enough, a simple "noise" osc allowing wav import is the minimum imo. Like serum/dune.Urs wrote: Mon Oct 23, 2023 10:05 amOf course it is.
