Maselec MEA-2? It's not on their main website yet, but google spotted its "thankyou for your interest" page and cached it a few days ago

The MEA-2 doesn't have any asymmetric EQ curves though.. unless they mean asymmetry with the boost vs cut and the Q.. but that would be totally normal and not at all innovative.. so my guess is they really mean asymmetric curves themselves.

My guess is the exact opposite. Relab marketing speech is among the worst, most hyperbolic bull**** in the industry - they just happen to have a lot better products than most marketing hype offenders. Still, no excuse to think their customers are as dumb as their marketing speak would seem them to think.

You were 100% correct. It's just a Maselec MEA-2. Don't know what the hell they are on about asymmetric EQ etc. It's a bog standard EQ implementation ala all the other copies of Massenburgs original ideas.

Actually, I was wrong about the Maselec MEA-2 being bog standard curves. It's not. They are _actually_ asymmetric, exactly like Relab said. It's quite interesting to see the curves in Plugin Doctor.

To be frank, they are quite weird. If I'd see these in any other EQ I'd think it's bugged. These remind me a bit of what you get from parallel EQ bands. If you set up DMG EQuilibrium to be in parallel, you can get these strange shapes.

I'm sure Relab nailed it but it's still hard to get excited about an EQ, and if the sale price is $149 and the full price is $199, I don't feel this big urge to rush out and save 25% during this intro sale. I suspect within a year or so, it will be down to $99. Plus, I feel like the era of ML plugins is just beginning and the market will soon be flush with plugins that use ML to recreate the original gear with little to no perceptable difference. Creating my own amp profiles in TONEX was a real eye opener for me - this is basically doing the same thing just turning the knobs in various combinations (note: I'm not saying it's easy or fast - if it was - everyone would have done it - but we'll see more of this).

I suspect they've got a few products going through the ML process, and an EQ plugin was just complted faster whereas the reverbs are trickier.
