Hi synth/midi lovers,

I've been developing my Android App 'MidiAmigo' for a while now.
It's still in development, but I think it's time I shared some info about it with the world.
It is not released yet. I hope to publish it on Google Play in due time.

I'd appreciate it if you take a little time to provide some feedback on what you think of it.
Thank you very much in advance. :)

Kind regards,
MidiAmigo

A big issue for me on Android is that midi doesn't seem to output when the device is charging another device - only when is is the 'slave' device being charged. If there's a workaround for that, it would allow USB powered devices to be powered or charged by the Android device while receiving midi. I'm not sure if this is baked into the OS though.

Thank you for this information. Since I've only worked with MIDI devices powered via the mains (not charged via the Android device over USB), I have never encountered this so far. Seems something to look into.

Hi all, I'm still working on my Android MIDI app called MidiAmigo.

FYI: I've put a new video up on YouTube, showcasing one of its modules: the message converter module. It can convert any MIDI message into any other (series of) MIDI message(s), even sysex to cc and vice versa, with expression formulas and all. If you don't like configuring everything manually: it's got MIDI learn, and a wizard that takes care of most common scenarios.

The video is kinda long, but I wanted to do justice to the versatility of the software. The video can be found here:

The app is still in development. It's not available in the Google Play Store yet. The goal of this post is, again, to ask feedback on the feature set, UI and workflow of the app, and this module in particular. You can find another (introductory) video on my YouTube channel @MidiAmigo. Hope to hear from you.

Kind regards,
MidiAmigo
