Lately I noticed that I have never found any feedback compressor with sidechains. Then I put some thought into it. A feedback compressor uses output as it's envelope detector's input, so there shouldn't be another sidechain. That said, a feedback compressor cannot have any other sidechains. Is that really the case? I found it really interesting and had never thought about it.

SSL bus compressor is feedback-based, and there are lots of implementations out there with sidechain HPF or external input.
How is that possible? It's a clever solution. Have a look at the block diagram in the manual for Cytomic The Glue!
