Minimal Audio Current…subscription

As minimal audio current isn't and won't be subscription based, shouldn't we change the thread title or start a new one?

or,
Current: Where is it currently?

Sad panda :'(DizzlerMusic wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 5:06 pmfalcon has a horrible workflow, current is easy and fast like serum. I wouldnt buy falcon for 50$. In fact, i sold it here on kvr because i was sick of the bad workflowGribs wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 4:41 pm Falcon 3 dropped yesterday and is on sale for $200 (free update for current license owners). There is just no contest over “Current” at the same price. Current should be $99 and on an intro sale for $66.
I like Falcon. It is necessarily complex due to the modularity. I find it easier to grok than Halion 7 (and previous versions). Watching Venus Theory fly around the Falcon interface in the new videos is impressive. He has it down well. I am not there yet.

Can't blame him, he must be pissed to see such an awesome V3 and not able to use it....Gribs wrote: Thu Oct 26, 2023 10:03 pm Sad panda :'(

That being said, in Current you can't do much rerouting of the signal workflow, a part for the filters parallel or series or the order of the fx are the end,
BUT,
the synth remains very interesting for his spectral capacity (better than falcon) and the very nice effects collection (not better than Falcon but different).

Can this be made with current? Not sure.
I can't listen to a whole Venetian Snares track tbh. Super crisp well produced sounds, but it's too jarring and not musical to me. It actually grates on my brain...

I would want to demo it and compare with Phase Plant. Hoping for the proper demo. Do they comparable? Right now I understand that Bass Osc of Current is great and Sampler Osc have stretch modes. Effects also different in sound.

Phase plant is way more flexible in routing.Stan Navi wrote: Fri Oct 27, 2023 9:43 am I would want to demo it and compare with Phase Plant. Hoping for the proper demo. Do they comparable? Current is more a competition for serum.
What current could have better than Phase Plant: spectral oscillators and the effects themselves.
But the routing of the effects is much more limited than Phase Plant.
Both have very nice and intuitive UI....

Sure! Current could be useful for IDM. Personally, I'd use Audiomodern and/or Microtonic and then process them through MetaSynth for the glitchy drums and bleeps._leras wrote: Fri Oct 27, 2023 4:52 amCan this be made with current? Not sure.

Gotcha re Venetian Snares lol! Maybe AFX or Autechre might be a little less grating.

There's no sync between wavetavle oscs right? Just sync like wavetables I guess?

Last time you said it is more competition for Avenger.Jac459 wrote: Fri Oct 27, 2023 10:46 amPhase plant is way more flexible in routing.Stan Navi wrote: Fri Oct 27, 2023 9:43 am I would want to demo it and compare with Phase Plant. I have Avenger, Rapid, Falcon...
Avenger though great and V2 will have great features and effects, my old system can't handle with constant spikes, even if i make simple patches. I would sell it, but it is NFR for me.
Rapid is great and quite fast and inspiring, but the future of this great synth is unknown. The only thing i don't like, i can't make multisamples loop points, so it is impossible to use multisamples for pads, because of clicks. For that part i use Falcon.
I bought not too long ago and discovering now Falcon and it has mind blowing possibilities.
Most of all i like it's Midi Script processors and granular engine. But it is not immediate synth like Serum, Phase Plant or Current as it seems.
I don't like Serum. Phase Plant is great and Current sounds great too.
The difficult choice is that for price of Current i could take Phase Plant (basic) and VCV Rack 2 Pro on black friday(+20-30$ to add).
