Hey all! As has been mentioned, we just updated the JX-3P to v2.

The JX-3P v2 features the much beloved updates from previous v2 instruments. Like a new and improved GUI with high-DPI graphics, the addition of the Circuit Mod, universal patch browsing. But it also features some unique features like the integration of the PG-200 Synth Programmer interface, new patches and more. Be sure to update the JX-3P in Roland Cloud Manager.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for sharing the news regarding the JX-3P v2! The JX-3P and PG-200 programmer was my second polyphonic synth after my Juno 60 which I still own. I loved the JX-3P and used to reprogram its sequencer on the fly between songs during live shows (which was more than a little stressful!).

I was planning to retrofit a used JX-3P with the Kiwi mod to go along with my Kiwi programmer. But then I spent the money on a second MKS-80. I'm still not sure if that was the right move.

Regardless, it's certainly nice to have a plugin version of the JX-3P even if it doesn't quite match the sound of the original. :tu:

Hey! Glad you are enjoying the updates. I changed the wording because I don't want to be misleading so thank you! The PG-200 interface and the ability to toggle this on and off is a welcomed new feature is all I was trying to say. :)

Hey Pulp Culture! The JX-3P is so awesome and I was enamored with a hardware model that was brought into a shop I worked at.

For what it's worth, the v2 model has refined high end frequencies to sound closer to the hardware than ever before!

Hi Jon,

I just saw these posts regarding the JX-3P v2. I finished downloading it along with several patch banks and I must say it sounds great. if memory serves me, the JX-3P was never the "fatest" or "warmest" synth of its era. But it had a very unique tone that made it a great compliment to these other types of analog synths. The Cloud version is bringing back lots of very fond memories. Thank you and your team for capturing the essence of this classic synth!

Post

Does anybody if JX-3P now uses a different sound engine ? Or are there just visual changes ? Thanks

Hey Echoes! The GUI of the JX-3P looks new and improved. The entire layout of the PG-200 and the toggle switch is newly designed and a replica of the original. It's cosmetic but to me it breathes new life into the synth. Not to mention how much crispier it sounds. :)

Many of us, including me, have noted spiking in the 5080 and 1080.
Anything you can report on that?
Thanks.

Hey zvenx! A ticket has been opened for this issue and we are still collecting information to find its source. For those of you who are also experiencing this, it would be very helpful if you reported it to our customer support portal. Thanks y'all. :phones:

The CPU spiking issue is a weird one. I have two silicon macs. one is an m1 max studio, and the other is an m2 MacBook pro. I get spiking on the Studio, and perfect behavior on the MacBook pro. Same operating system, same version of the Roland plugins, same version of logic.
I have provided all this information to the customer support portal.
