I hope Audiority will eventually do a Small Stone, his Phase 90 is really good ...

Thanks, I am looking for a replacement for Acoustic Arts.metalifuxx wrote: Sat Oct 28, 2023 8:18 pm The best phaser-y effect i have tried in plugin form is Blue Cat’s Polyvibe. They just nail and get closer to a hardware emulated phaser in software form than any other plugin that does phaser stuff.

Not explaining anything to anyone has to be something more than that. Maybe working for another company?

I just dusted this one off and while I have no idea if it’s accurate, I found it had a great vibe, and I especially liked the coloration it gave.jamcat wrote: Fri Oct 27, 2023 4:26 pm There’s a decent one in AmpliTube. You can download AmpliTube CS for free and get the stomp through the Custom Shop for just a few dollars.
It’s called the Small Phazer.
I wish devs would knock it off with modeling all the distortion pedals all the time and start giving us more flangers and phasers. We shouldn’t have to go to AmpliTube or Helix just to get a Small Stone or a BF-2 model, while absolutely everyone has modeled the same boring TubeScreamer, RAT, and Big Muff over and over again.![]()

There's an ethical way to go out of business and then there's the sleazy way that ArtsAcoustic took. Their website is still up and they are still selling plugins that don't work under 64 bits.

Their reverb is 64 bits and still works under Rosetta in Cubase 12 and Logic 10.7.9.Frantz wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 8:04 pm

However, they have not updated anything in over 10 years and the last time they communicated something on their website was a price reduction in 2016.

Well, the 64 bit Windows BigRock crashed consistently for me and I am sure many others had the same experience.Weasel-Boy wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 8:30 pm Their reverb is 64 bits and still works under Rosetta in Cubase 12 and Logic 10.7.9.

yes, i'm still mad about the whole ArtsAcoustic affair. Pissed that KVR still have them in the database.
they can't even send me my serials nor change my addy nor even reply an email.
and still selling their plugins. And licensing effects for Avenger.
The phaser and compressor are totally broken. Screw the customers who paid through the teeth.

Why KVR still has the Arts Acoustic forum active is even more confounding.sqigls wrote: Mon Oct 30, 2023 1:07 am yes, i'm still mad about the whole ArtsAcoustic affair. Pissed that KVR still have them in the database.

I did a quick arbitrary unscientific comparison of every phaser effect I currently have installed including StudioOne stock effects. My favorite three in order are:
1. Melda MPhaserMB
2. Soundtoys PhaseMistress
3. StudioOne Phaser
I was suprised to have Melda win my shootout. I rarely use Melda because of the convoluted UIs but it now has an easy mode called "1 Band" which hides all the complexity and makes it simple to use. That being said, I don't think it is amazing and I think there could be something better.
PhaseMistress probably sounds more analog but introduces too much murk and lofi-ness for my tastes.
The ones that I didn't like are:
- BC PolyVibe
- StudioOne Phaser90 in Pedalboard
- ShaperBox3 Phaser
- Tone2 Warmverb Phaser
- Native Instruments Phasis
- Kilohearts Phaser -- this one was my least favorite. It's so subtle it tends to be inaudible at slow rates.

+1 for Fazortan. It really does nail it very well. Don't remember what got upgraded in v2 but it was always a very impressive plugin to begin with.
