GUi concerns aside (with which I totally concur as someone who thinks the Largo v1 UI is a design masterpiece,) I just don't understand why most of the Largo presets sound so gratingly digital and unbearably shrill.

I have an obscure bank of Largo presets that almost perfectly nail the classic sounds from my hardware MicroWave I Rev A. So Largo is certainly capable of so much more. But why can't sound designers seem to take advantage of Largo/Blofeld's super powerful synth engine? It's one of life's great mysteries.
Definetely not the words I'd use to describe Largo, though I do get what you mean - some of the factory presets don't showcase the potential beauty of the synth - by far.

Simply because years back, Largo didn`t look like a mainstream synth, so less popular and with that - fewer potential customers...
Even Arturia can't seem to come up with a decent sounding synth emulation these days. They've moved on to superior sounding hardware synths like the PolyBrute.

At least Largo is a good sounding facsimile of the Blofeld. I'm glad Waldorf updated Largo to work on modern computer platforms. It may not be the most popular synth plugin. But at least it sounds authentic.

That's a good patch set by modern standards. But it's still digital garbage for anyone with a modicum of taste.

My hardware hybrid MicroWave I sounds infinitely better and more musical. What's happened to "synthesizers" in the age of plugins? Does no one recognize the devolution? Maybe the band Devo had it right.

Hi Vurt, you compulsive poster of over 100,000 (!) posts, Geez, I don't know where you find the time. Do they hand out laptops in mental institutions?

May I kindly suggest a needy, yet loveable dog? Or perhaps knitting?

Maybe because it has analog VCA and VCF sections, the rest is as digital as Largo (probably less accurate). And add the output converters to the mix.

People buying the music made with plugins or hardware don't complain about these (subjective) points.

Audio examples? In fact, I'd be happy to hear any example of any audio you deem sounds the best and most musical.
