I'm seeing an upgrade price of €199 for Analog Lab Pro, I have all their software so that seems pricey.
What is the advantage over Analog Lab V, other than 2000 presets, the new browser and UI.

Post

Why would anyone get this and not V Collection instead?

Post

Yeah, it's rebranded, so perhaps it won't be part of the next vCollection. I'm confused.

Post

Analog Lab V is now Analog Lab Pro. I've just updated.

Post

OK, my bad, they've changed some the details on the site now, it is just an update.

Thanks Arturia!

Buy now! It's Pro. Heard on countless Grammy Hits.

Here's the changelog:
New features:

First release of Analog Lab Play

Added new Main view

Analog Lab V full version is now labeled Analog Lab Pro on user interface

Added account creation to login window

Improvements on in-app tutorials

Clicking on a macro name to edit it no longer opens the instrument view

Right clicking on a bank now works on Home view

When using an Arturia controller, selecting a Type or Subtype using the main encoder no longer loads the first preset of the list

Bug fixes:

Improved order of sound banks section in Home view

Modwheel is now mapped by default to the rotary speed on B-3 presets

Factory banks for owned individual instruments are now available in Analog Lab Intro

Macros are now correctly named on all presets

Renaming a macro now correctly updates the name on the control panel

Synclavier Poly and Poly Retrig now behave correctly in the side panel settings

Improved compatibility with playlists from older version of Analog Lab

Double clicking to edit text in the search bar now working
Doesn't sound like much significant has changed, but it is even more confusing - mentioned in the above there is:

Analog Lab Play - no idea what that is
Analog Lab Pro - the new name of:
Analog Lab V - is this name now deprecated? If so what is the plugin called and will it still work in old sessions?
Analog Lab Intro - still exists seemingly

They should just rename it "Interactive Ad For V Collection"

Curiosity got the better of me and I updated it on the Macbook. It is prettier.

Odd thing for me though - when I edit an instrument, clicking the instrument's GUI keyboard does nothing. The Analog Lab on-screen keyboard works normally.

Can't see what the "new main view" is - I think they must just mean it looks a bit prettier.

Hey I found Main View!

Image

It's really weird. It's a pretty graphic to represent the category the patch is in, the macros, an additional simple patch name with arrows for next and previous and that's it - designed for the new free Play version I think. There's no apparent way to get out of it and into the main interface, but the top browser remains intact. If you click the library graphic button next to the patch name - voila, the old Analog Lab is back. Similarly, there's no obvious way to get to into in the first place, but the X button next to the main patch name (that usually just clears the search box) jumps you into it.

Did I mention it is pretty? It is. It looks lovely. And it does nothing at all.

AL Intro has 500 presets and AL Play only has 100 and the download is 3.5 GB :?

More useless bloat.

I, too, am a classic Jun Key.

Just to confirm that despite the name change, the Analog Lab V plugin itself is still named Analog Lab V so all existing projects should be fine.

So if we have Analog Lab basic/elements (whatever the small one is called) is it worth downloading AL Play or is it the same? Confused haha!
