Since the highest Quality of Diva is also the lowest Quality of Repro, thats the Answer.

I don't like the sound character of either one, frankly. I don't care about authentic analog sound, in fact, I probably dislike it.
I only want a subtractive synth because I know how it works, not because I want that harsh analog sound.

Whats a harsh analog sound?

Seems that you are a bit limited in using Virtual Analog Synths. They can produce the smoothest butter like sounds, far more than any other synthesis method.

Nah, I know how to program subtractive synths.
Even the expensive Jupiter 8 sounded harsh to my ears. It sounded good on albums because of all the processing.

Unrealistic expectations lead to inevitable disappointment. Sounds like you don't really have a clue what you are looking for or even how to find it. Every one of those synths that you dislike are excellent recommendations based on what you asked. But it does require you to have a least a modicum of skills to appreciate how good those synths actually are especially to those who know how to use them.

To the contrary, I only want to use a single synth for everything.
That's like a painter saying "I only want to use one color for every painting". Fine, knock yourself out but realize that every one of your paintings is going to look pretty much the same.

I like the new Oberheim emulation, if only it had a 24db filter. But it sounds pleasant to my ears, very different from Diva for instance.

Guy doesn't like Roland synths! Doesn't like Moog, doesn't like Sequential, doesn't like Korg. What can you do!

You shouldn't make such judgements about people you don't know, just because they don't share your views.
You can save your bla bla bla for little children.

Again, I am not looking for an emulation of any hardware synth.
I do like Moog for basses, though. But also Roland. In fact, basses are easier to make sound good because you don't have the voice interaction etc.

Finally another senseless and toxic thread.
Congratulation

There's a demo of this one from them at the bottom of the page. It's got a 24db filter and is on sale: https://www.gforcesoftware.com/products/minimonsta2/

Thats a Moog and he doesnt like Hardware Emulations, except moog for Basses and sometimes Roland. Bass is easier because they dont have Voice Interaction and a Jupiter 8 sounds good with all that processing.

Please BONES return now. :?

From our interactions, I have the feeling you are a little child or at least act like one that is beyond spoiled.

Ok, good luck with your mythical quest for perfection. The rest of us will keep on using all the great synths that have been recommended here.

As always there are people who complain about synths and then are those who actually use them. I'll give you one guess which people are more productive.

So with that in mind I'm going to go use many of the synths recommended here that you can't seem to get your head around.......
