Anyway, they can charge what they want. Will sort itself out by people who are willing or not willing to buy them.

I'll wait for the Dobly Special Edition which will only be available in retail packing in the shape of a Stonehenge Monolith.
Even with the manufacturing error which resulted in the packaging being full scale, it will still be cheaper than this.
Plus, it goes to 11.

Or folks that like to use 3D and surround/movement into a binaural mix. Not sure how you have to be a professional for that

Regardless... MSRP $500 for Blackhole (or MicroPitch) sounds quite steep even for "professionals".
I'll admit the Blackhole algorithm is pretty unique, but I'm also thinking of other multichannel top of the line reverbs (from ExponentialAudio/iZotope or LiquidSonics, to name a couple) priced lower than that.
edit: Pro-R2 just released (with all the immersive/multichannel functions) at $170... I mean...
$500 simply sounds induced by the need to be "coherent" with the MSRP $200 for Blackhole stereo.

Did anyone foolishly buy this at $500? Because the price is now slashed down to $199.
