Yeah Reason, I had convinced myself that Audio Input would be in V 3 but no. I just dont understand the props, a vocoder, mastering tools but no audio input :o . To me it just doesnt make sense.
Ill stick with my Reason Adapted until the props see the light (I think I will be waiting for a long time)

AFAIK Reason adapted can only be optained with some hardware like a M-Audio audio card. And one of the limitations are that you can only have one instance of each instruments, and a couple of them are not included , eg. Malstrom I think. Sorry, this is not very precise, but it's something like that  Damn dementia.

i got reason adapted with recycle - the one in that just has some fx and 4 dr rex players - would be ahndy if i didn't have a handful of samplers that can play rex files

but i think their is a lot of differnt reason adapteds out there

the one i got didnt really impress - is it really worth downing a demo (of 3 ?)

There's different versions depending on what you get it with(mine was part of my ReCycle update).Mine is three DrREX players and a NN-XT,with a sequencer that has tracks for each plus a track for mixer automation.
The biggest downer is that you can't open regular Reason refills with it;the Adapted refill format's different.

yes, weird! Recycle has been out for 10 YEARS now. Talk about about shelflife...jeez. I really thought that even by version 2.0 that the props would have integrated recycle into Reason(or within dr.rex). It's just a no brainer IMHO and would make Reason much more capable and productive.

Don't blame Reason itself, but realize that you've got two very complex and demanding applications running plus ReWire (which has the ability to stream a lot of independant audio-streams).

I've got an old computer, and optimizing things is a high priority, as my arrangements gets more and more demanding. At this point I have to switch between using ASIO and WDM-drivers, because with my configuration only ASIO can provide me with latency low enough to actually play/record "live" with it (with my keyboard as a MIDI-controller). I usually do "programming-stuff" (like drums, pads, fx etc) with WDM-drivers and then freeze (or simply turn off) the tracks when switching to ASIO.

(I hope this made any sense to you)
I cant seem to overload reason when its own its own, do its effects take no cpu at all?
I added 10 reverbs and the cpu seemed to go up about 10% if that.
Yes, it also amazes me.. But then again, the RV7000 isn't that great after all IMHO. It works fine on electronic and "virtual" sounds, but if you want to do, say, a proper acoutsic drumset, strings or other real-life instruments, I find them almost useless.

I've archieved very wide halls and room-scapes by combining more RV7000, either by connecting them sequentially or by using two RV7000, one for each side of the panorama. This would create a true stereo-reverb (it says so in the manual), but keep in mind that "true stereo reverb" doesn't mean "ralistic stereo reverb"

Try experimenting with routing your devices directly to the hardware-interface and then using the apropriate inputs in Live to apply your VST-reverbs to the devices there. As I mentioned before, this seems to be one of the unique and most powerful things in the ReWire-concept.
