Hey guys, I have KRK's and wonder if its normal that when producing the speakers start to rumble unpleasently in a certain low-end-frequency-range. I know this rumbling from other systems with subwoofer too and think when tamed correctly it can create a good effect.

So is it normal and just needs some volume automation and EQ?

Or is it a problem that should not occure in the first place and hinders the mixing process?

Since I don't hear that kind of unpleasent low-end rumbles in mixed and mastered tunes on spotify or youtube on my speakers, I guess taming it is part of the mixdown process...but Im not sure.

How do you deal with this?

Could it be you hit the self-resonance frequency of the speaker itself?

Im a huge noob with these tech-things... what do you mean by that? And how would I check this?

Try the exact sound on a different pair of speakers and see if you get the same rumbling.

Self-resonance is fairly common and can happen anywhere. Even bridges.
