Valhalla Ubermod can do reverbs that are not from this world.

There's at least a couple other granular reverb plugs that I know of: Grainspace from Audiority and Things - Texture from Audiothing. I haven't tried Grainspace but Things - Texture is pretty cool.Neon Breath wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 2:04 am Sinevibes Albedo, granular reverb.
Very unique sounding and as far as I know, it's the only granular reverb available beside the one in Kyma.

Can get some really unusual reverb sounds with convolution

There were some great IRs from Spirit Canyon but they are no longer for sale unfortunately
Phonolyth plugins are worth checking out too

Surreal Machines Microfuse. Not weird but they have some combo verb/delays that are great. I'd have to throw Guitar Rig in there.

There's also Unfiltered Audio Silos, though I don't care for that one very much.Chicken Drummy wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 10:43 amThere's at least a couple other granular reverb plugs that I know of: Grainspace from Audiority and Things - Texture from Audiothing. As far as weird reverbs go, Tails is interesting with the "Sample rate" option (which changes the sample rate inside the delay lines or something, and ends up creating lots of weird noisy artifacts). Also includes one of the granular algorithms from Silos.

I've been using Raum so much lately that I don't usually think of Raum as especially weird. Guess you can take it to some strange places though.
Other weird "sound design" reverbs I like:
Cascade
Desmodus
Droplet
miniVerb
Pianoverb, though I really don't use it as much as I used to.
UFX-Reverb
Velvet Machine (almost a utility, I often use it inside a multiband splitter to kill transients when things get ugly, or use it to shape the attacks of my bass guitar)
Also, using delay effects with lots of feedback (and maybe diffusion if available) -- ValhallaDelay and Imitor are both good for this.
Using granular effects (especially in Eurorack).

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Ariesverb. You can go as weird and deeps as you want with it!

UA Tails can go pretty weird, in fact never used it for realistic reverb...
JMG Hyperspace can go bloody weird especially with it's xy controls.
DevChallenge winner Solaris is a more striaght forward 'shimmer' verb but can be achingly gorgeous.
If you use Reaper then check out tha Reapack repository; Lava, Abyss, Dawn Reverb(?) all pretty strange but lovely.

Another vote for both Phonolyth devices, I love Audiority Xenoverb and also Aaltoverb is capable of some lovely modulation for some nice sound design stuff

I like that one too.
And Orilriver. I like it so much that I use its "Dim Expander A" preset permanently on my master track. It just adds a tiny bit of air and realistic sound reflections that I appreciate. I watch Youtube videos and Twitch streams with it, it makes everything better.
Th only downside to Orilriver is it doesn't save the current configuration, and there has never been any bug fix for it
