Orilriver is another great one, very true.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

My favorite IR lately is a two-minute long recording of tall grass rustling in the wind.imrae wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 10:34 pm My favourite weird reverb technique is using strange noisy sounds as impulse responses. Fog Convolver comes with some nice examples.

I tend to think of Raum as a jack of all trades reverb that can do real spaces and weird stuff pretty easily. But I mainly use it for 'realism' though. Speaking of NI, Replica XT can also be used to create some odd diffused reverbs... Black Hole OTOH is difficult to get doing much but eerie soundscape stuff. I love it but really struggle to get it sitting nicely ever.foosnark wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 12:23 pm I've been using Raum so much lately that I don't usually think of Raum as especially weird. Guess you can take it to some strange places though.

melda MTurboReverb
lets you write and create your own algorithms
with the various "randomnizers" you can easily get quite weird reverbs

Very interesting tip. It DOES sound good. I use Oril River regularly but have never experimented with that patch. (For a couple years now, I've been using Dragonfly Reverb Early Reflections in a similar manner.)lolilol1975 wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 9:04 pm I use its "Dim Expander A" preset permanently on my master track. It just adds a tiny bit of air and realistic sound reflections that I appreciate. I watch Youtube videos and Twitch streams with it, it makes everything better.

Wow!
Fog Convolver

Had plans not to buy anymore reverbs.
If this goes on a Black Friday sale I will get it!

Soundbetter Butterfly effect is an absolute beauty when it comes to cloudy granular reverb.Neon Breath wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 2:04 am Sinevibes Albedo, granular reverb.
Very unique sounding and as far as I know, it's the only granular reverb available beside the one in Kyma.
I think it's the best granular reverb in existence, imho.
It has three reverbs in one. A shimmer reverb, a blurred delay and a more conventional reverb. Both the blurred delay can be frozen. The blurred delay can be fed into to a filter that can be quantised to a musical key or automatically swept with an inbuilt lfo.
You can side chain it for ducking and you can set the ducker to only operate on certain frequencies. It also has saturation on the input that can be run in 8 bit mode.
It's very deep and sounds absolutely glorious.
