We are making music to fill the emptiness and sorrow in our tormented souls.

Teksonik wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2023 5:28 pm So you don't think anyone who has given any money to any developer has a right to complain when that developer doesn't handle his business correctly?
After I've demoed a plugin to my satisfaction and decided to buy it, for me that's where the commercial relationship ends. Free updates are welcome, but I wouldn't expect them in any other type of product I buy.
So you're happy that you paid for buggy software that hasn't been fixed in a year? Ok brother you do you, some of us hold developers to a higher standard.......

Nice try but your quote came from a post where you quoted me so the discussion was with me. Do try to keep up....or keep out.

You have no argument at all other than blindly defending someone who apparently doesn't care one bit about you.

But I understand the white knight syndrome is strong at KVR where defending developers whether they deserve it or not is de rigueur. Maybe it's a form of hero worship.

Anyway I'm done with the subject. I've said what I have to say so I'll wish everyone a nice day. :tu:

the term "white knighting" is an odd one, as far as im concerned it would mean "to talk backwards"

This is so strange, as some here seem to irrationally go overboard in attacking developers without any sense of decency. Maybe we could do a poll and see what the consensus is--how many see so-and-so as having white knight syndrome (does this just mean nice people?) and how many see so-and-so as grumpy, drunken curmudgeons.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Why ? Have you run into blocking bugs ? If not, it just works and it will work forever, so why are you worried ?

I simply don't understand this mindset. If a software works and does what it was designed for, there is no need for updates. If it is too limiting for you then go find something else, but if it's not, then there is no reason to worry. It's not a car, it doesn't need spare parts, and it's not like your DAW will suddenly stop accepting VST2 or VST3 instruments any time soon (or even in the next 20 years). Keep the installer and your license around and you shouldn't have any problem.

Without updates, a software will fall behind evolving standards or facing compatibility issues with future updates in DAWs or operating systems.
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're on Mac OS, yeah, absolutely. On Windows, not so.

Maybe not so fast, I agree.
I have a few plugin software on windows that no longer work on windows 10 that worked on windows xp.
Not to mention that 32 bits are no longer of any use to me in Cubendo.
