In the web site, they are saying 200usd... In the plan part. The navigation on the site is a bit weird but you can see it if you were registered before.

You bought it too?
I am sure it is... But I need first to play more with Hive 2 and Polymer, 2 superb synths I don't use enough...

The rent to own is for the whole minimal audio ecosystem, including the effects....
It is 15usd monthly or 10usd/month if billed yearly.
Basically the RTO is much more interesting., you can use 120 usd to take one year, and then 75 USD to take 5 additional months.
So with 200 USD, instead of one year of service, you have 17 months and the full minimal audio offer.
That makes the 199usd one-off a bit silly.... Except that most of us here will prefere one-off.
Overall I think there is nothing to criticize here, they corrected the sub issue, and the offer makes very much sense now....
BUT, on my personal case, I think that without a discount on the one-off price, it will be a pass... I have enough toys already....

Thanks Jac954!
The last point is very weird..
Will the playback and automation stop working after the first year, if I choose one time purchase?
And is there no discount for everyone who already bought the complete FX bundle?

The question is on content and update.
Will it be like UVI or Arturia with constant upgrades? Or because we are not RTO, not any kind of upgrade?
Having clarity on that aspect would help me decide to buy or not, but it is difficult for the developer to commit upfront, it depends of many factors.
For example for UVI, they are extremely generous on upgrades but it helps for brand recognition and they sell a ton of extensions.
Same for Kilohearts,
For Arturia they have also an hardware side,so brand recognition is a plus. When Pigments is very often on top of the favourite soft synths, that brings a lot of buyers for there hardware synths.... Nobody is questioning the quality of the brand.
For minimal audio it may be more difficult to achieve... They need to find a way to provide free upgrades while staying profitable and sustainable...
My hope is they can produce a lot of sound extensions and make profit like this and then offer free features upgrade to current....

199 dollars is very an high price for what it does. after 20 days of demo I can't see any reason to spend that money.

How it stands against Serum or Falcon?charlesalbert wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 8:47 am 199 dollars is very an high price for what it does. after 20 days of demo I can't see any reason to spend that money.
Why do you think it is very high price for what it does?

I still do not get the 199 dollar price tag for owners of ALL effects they have released in the past, these are the same included in current, right? So why would I have to pay exactly the same price as someone who buys the synth, but doesn´t own any of the effects for which I´ve already paid for?

199 Euros puts it at the price level of Serum, Pigments and Phase Plant, sales excluded.
Current's effects supersede just about every software instrument I have ever used or tested. They sound far better than just about any effect in Serum or Phase Plant, with some of Pigment's effect on par. There is a built-in limiter you can trigger both on every effect and globally, how genius is that!
The included presets sound amazing but at times a bit overproduced. It's almost as if you're playing loops. But given Current's workflow and sound quality I wouldn't be surprised if we soon get a lot of third-party presets that match your genre.

If you have the new plans active in your account (might be tomorrow if you didn't sub yet) you should see a 'Current bundle' option in your account which is discounted based on perpetual licences you own.enCiphered wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:09 am I still do not get the 199 dollar price tag for owners of ALL effects they have released in the past, these are the same included in current, right?
